A case of wait and see if I have just made the hugest mistake since General Custer. Fook, I am a very nervous man right now. Have I effed up BIG or what?:scooter: :scooter:
I think you can withdraw an auction if you want. I wouldn't sell my bikes for $1 reserve. You only get bargain hunters looking at it.

So you won't take 100 bucks then? Bugger.

But seriously, you'll get a flurry of bids right near the end which should take it up to market value.
It closes as a shit of a time though, so you might not have as many competing bidders as you might like.
Keep an eye on it, and pull it if you're going to lose out.

Yeah like Lazy 7 said $1 reserve will give you a good idea of its market value among private sales.
I currently have my car on auction for $1 reserve too http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=58630825
Hope it goes up a bit more than what its at now though

How much are you looking for it? I woulda thought 7-7 1/2 grand would about top it. Esp for a car of it's age (nearly 10 years old)
. Mind you my 96 Accord has 271,000 on the clock, lol, and I thought I'd only get about 1500 for it, so am not selling. My sister might as well have it in a few months time.

I've had it on trademe before as a normal auction with ahigher reserve and I had bids up to $8100 so I am hoping for something around that figure.
There are several others on there same spec as mine but with standard wheels and no alarm for $10k...dreamers.

Fark sake, I told you this was a silly Idea Steve. :bleh:
Its a great bike guys. Been on it and it is a damn impressive ride.
Anyway, do you need a place to stay and a ride to the A/P on the 20th? Im picking up my flatmate who comes back from Aus/ Equador on the 18th. Also the offer is still open to store some of your stuff in the garage.
I'll chat to you on messenger tonight.

There are those about.
Well my baby has reached 4 grand now so am just hoping that it moves over 5 or I'll be kicking myself up de ass all the way to Oz. I should think it'd at least make $5500. Fark me, some people pay more than that for mid 90s CBR 250s! I know what I'd rather be on :first:

Yep very true mate, if you have a few people watching the auction what usually happens is the bidding will start happening in the last 10 minutes of the auction.. well that what has happened with mine in the past anyway :blip:

stevo, i wouldn't be worried at all, cbr's are a popular bike, so you can gaurantee their will be some big jumps in the bidding in the closing moments, it's stressful, but you will get a good price, an example of this is a toyota surf i was thinking about bidding on, the bidding was sitting just below what would have been a good price to get it for - $5000 with 10 minutes to go i was thinking sweet, i'll get this for my price easy, $5500, so put the auto bid in, "sorry there is already a higher bid" i'm thinking what?? go back to the auction, and there has been a few more bids and it's now at $6000, out of my price range... watched it to the end, and it ended up going for nearly $8000. peoples emotions come into it big time, and it ended up there had been 2 people who actually went to look at it, and one from out of town who had already booked flights to pick it up, so he said he was basically winning it no matter what, and those three battled it out until $8000

Like someone said though, it doesn't close till just after midnight, which prob isn't so great. Me being a bit of a night owl, and the fact I deliberated for over two hours whether to hit the confirm button or not were contributing factors. Can you bring your closing time forward a few hours? Does anyone know?
