From memory, playing games like Warcraft & Command and Conquer was possible with only one hand. Some functions like grouping men/machines together required the other hand, but those sort of brief control actions should be possible by taking your hand off the mouse briefly...

So my point finally, are there any new, high spec games that could be played using mostly the mouse OR a small one hand section of the keyboard? I'm obviously going to go check if there are any new releases of the games I mentioned, but I'd like to hear if there are others I haven't heard of?

Cheers.
Dave

This game is pretty sweet. Although not really 'high tech':http://www.hallpass.com/media/bowman2.html

The new Nintendo Wii which'll be out later this year has a funky new controller which should be all good. Might make gaming a bit more accessible but we'll have to wait till it comes out to be sure. From the videos and things it looks pretty promising. It's like a 1 handed motion sensing wireless control with a d-pad and some buttons on it.

There's a freeware game called Polish the Firemans Helmet. Takes a while to get into it but it ends with a fantastic climax.

How about instead of just one handed games, you investigate other mousing options as well? This (http://www.fentek-ind.com/ergmouse.htm) page has a "no handed" mouse system available. I use an upright mouse (3M) although for a OOS issue.

SC, a friend of mine made me a foot controller using industrial emergency stop switches and a usb pad. It has 6 buttons on it and allows me to play any game using my feet and right hand. I'll hunt down some pics of it so you can see what I mean. Very cool unit, costs were around the $200 mark.

If you get a racing wheel with enough buttons you can use it one handed + pedals. just set it up so you can change gear with you right thumb.

An old game: Strip Poker is good to be played with 1 hand only.
I think it IS designed to be played by 1 hand. So, the other hand can be utilized in other task, such as.....er......picking your nose......

Command And Conquer - The First Decade! (with "12 ways to conquer the world", according to the back blurb), picked it up after work.

It's a collectors box set, 2 DVD's with 12 C&C games, from Command And Conquer, Red Alert - The Aftermath, Red Alert - Counterstrike, ..., to C&C Generals. The first games look really old when compared to how I remember them. The Generals version is pretty cool, game-play and graphics wise.

I think I'll stick to this one set, I get bored really easily and there's plenty to do.
