And yeah I agree that your bike is better to "ride NZ" on, in that it is more adaptable and able to be ridden both on and off road...but you still shouldn't knock a sprotsbike till you've owned one! :Punk:

Great Pics, and looks like a fun ride ride. Did you have a play on the beach after you were done with the photos? As Motu said I can't imagine it looking that way for long, I'd certainly be having a play

As the saying goes ... "take only photos, leave only footprints" do wheelprints count

Yah - I did some power slides. Couple of grands worth of cameras on board makes me a little more circumspect - but one or two dontachknow.

Maybe thats because you'd need the odd knee joint here and spinal section there regreased before you'd realise that sports bikes can be very comfortable.
I guess it depends whose riding it.
I hear ya though, I test rode a V-Rod and fark me, It was NIIICCCEEEEEEE!

I was saying to my other half yesterday over coffee in Akaroa that it would be nice to be able to take cool(er) pix but you need so much kit to lug around. (prompted by the guy with the big camera bag, and Canon EOS slung round his neck).

It would be worth it for results like that though.

mmmm Buell Ulysses. v. cool.

Great stuff, BD. I had never seen a Buell Enduro bike before. Great pics - love the "pot of gold" shot.

Hear what you're saying about sprots bikes. Gave them up ages ago, sodding uncomfortable things. Tried a cruiser and found that uncomfortable over distances too. Back on an Enduro where I belong.

When I came back to the ''mainland'' 10yrs a go I had plans for the bike I was gunna buy, something go fast with incredable handling....I'd show these young pups how to ride.....

Yeah right - give it three months and I knew I'd be bored shitless riding the same old same old roads,I'd have it on the gravel and have stoved in the pipes mounting a curb.I know where my heart is,it's in gravel - so why the delusion?.It doesn't really have to be an adventure bike for me....but it has to be a damn sight more versatile than a sprostsbike.

bikers come in all shapes and sizes. I am 162cm in my sox. most offroad bikes have the seat at around my chest height. May as well be a goddamn horse for all the use that is to me.

Hey that's the road from Waiuku out to Kariotahi beach! I grew up in that shitty little town haha. Heaps of fun roads out there but there's plenty of maniac boy racers to share them with so be careful.
Not much to do in that town except drink, smoke, drink, drive and now and then have a drink. You woulda noticed how small the town is? yet it has three dedicated liquor outlets (not counting the bars and supermarkets) and they are open later than any here in Hamilton.

Motu

The thing I've noticed about Waiuku is the over abundance of eating places, takeaways and restraunts, they are just everywhere - why so many in such a small town?
