View Full Version : Hesitant acceleration

Hi,

Just recently, when i've been coming home, i'll twist the throttle to accelerate. The bike then seems to hesitate for a short while (maybe 1/2 of a second), then accelerates as normal.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Some other things which may or may not be related:
1. Starting about 2 months ago, the bike occasionally backfires at low rpm under deceleration.
2. Hesitation seems worse at night, although I can't say for sure.
3. Clutch has just started making a clicking noise when I pull it in. ( I doubt this has anything to do with the hesitation though.)

Cheers,

CFS

Sounds like perhaps the mixture's a little out, hence the problem in colder conditions.

Solution?

Buy a fuel injected bugger. You're welcome

I reckon WT is on the money- 'tis probably running lean in the cooler weather. Or could be maybe the airfilters clogged and she's running rich.

Mine is hesitant to accelerate too - Lasts from about idle to redline though.
