This is a very good article on tyre wear and its cause. It sure disproves one theory I'd long believed.

Interesting, that could explain it - I have always disbelieved the road camber theory. One reason is people who have owned the same bike using the same tyres for many years....why do they suddenly get extreme right side front tyre wear when they never had it before. My explanation was maybe tyre construction has changed, even if it appears the tyre hasn't (eg Dunlop TT100,still made 30 yrs later)
But our roads have changed, they have altered corners and intersections - so even the same bike ridden by the same person on the same tyres on the same roads....can have a change in wear pattern - because the change in road layout means the right side of the tyre is travelling further.Makes sense to me because it clears up that particular discrepancy.
Good read:niceone: Thanks for posting.
