View Full Version : **IMPORTANT THREAD** MR's Van Stolen!!

Motoracer
11th June 2006, 12:05
Yesterday the 10th of June, with in the time frame of midday and 19:00 hours, my beloved van was taken from out side my house from Rockfield Road, Penrose.

Here is the discription of the van:

Reg: RB7756
Year: 1991
Make: Ford
Model: Econovan Long wheelbase
Colour: White with patchy rust spots.
Distinctive features: Very bad window tints with lots of bubbles. It has #15 race number stickers and bike stickers like "Metzeler" and Colemans Suzuki all over it.

I have already filed a police report this morning. Oddly enough, the officer who took my report just lives up the road from me. Not only that but he informed me that, my van was just right outside his house doing donuts at 06:00 hrs. His wife asked him to go out and have a look but he said it was too early to get out of bed. This van was spotted in 4 different occasions around the same area where I live for driving in an erratic manner since then, so I am hopefull...

I will be spreading the word within different communities. I think this was a local job, so tomorrow morning I will be going to the local workshops and wreckers to give them the general description, VIN and engine numbers for the van. Then I will obviously have to keep an eye out in trademe and trade and exchange for people in my area trying to sell parts of this van.

My request to you all is to please read the discription given above and look at the picture for reference and just keep an eye out for it. If you know people who are inside the car theaving society who might know something, any kind of leads would be much appreciated.

From the information given by the police officer and my general observation, I will be throughly patroling the area where the van was spotted in various occasions. If there are any of you who are free this afternoon who wouldn't mind helping out with the search, I would really appreciate assistance as well. If you are genuinly interested to help, please text to 021 636 156 instead of PM'ing. Don't worry you won't have to confront any unpleasentness. Upon recovery (I am hopefull), I will handle the matter from there with the responcible culprits.

Many thanks.
Sudeep.

I know what it fels like to have a vehcile stolen, it really sucks arse. Sounds like some snot nosed kids joy riding and its possible that you might get it back, much more worse for wear. Hope it was well insured dude, should it end up these ways I'll let you and the Police know.

11th June 2006, 13:45
stink man.. good luck getting it back. hope ya had it insured

I also know what it's like to get a vehicle back after joy-riders have had their fun: no mags (was on space savers), steering wheel sawn (to get the wheel lock off), no front seats (swappa crate boxes), no stereo (or amp or sub)... etc etc

written off pretty much

AS I mentioned this arvo MR, I work in the penrose area and will keep an eye out for it. I really hope that you get it back...and not shagged either. Little pricks that steal cars need their fingers cut off.

I hope you find the van, parked somewhere safely, with the only damage being slightly less rubber on the wheels...

What really pisses me off is that it was most likely stolen for nothing other than a joyride, a quick "power-trip" for a bunch of bro's who have no interest/care for the consequences of their actions, on either them or you. Hell, they probably got a frequent jail flyer card. You'll never get "those" sort of people to give a shit about anything, so sadly a skull cracking is all that could really be done... My only advice, use something heavy and blunt. Good luck.

Hey, I doubt they are experienced OR intelligent, and by the list of things you gave of what you'll be doing I'm SURE you'll come across it and/or them in no time.

Dave.

PS: I'll lend you a hand if you like, seriously, I'll courier it up to you and you can use it as the blunt object?

will keep an eye out. If they were doing doughnuts and shit it is highly likley that it has been dumped after a night of joy riding. But you never know the intelligence levels of such individuals.

Firstly, thanks heaps for the support and help! Specially thoes who went out of their way to help me look for the van. Firefight, Texmo, N4CR and others. I meant a lot!

The van was recovered by cops on Monday evening. It was ditched on the side of a road in Manurewa. The discription of the condition just said smashed window. I am hoping that it's just one smashed window that was when they broke into the van and not smashed windows all round after they finished their joy ride.

Since the tow yard is pretty packed full with stolen vehicles in South Auckland, the cops reckon they still haven't had the time to finger print the van for me. So I am still unaware of what's missing and whats damaged as they still won't release it to me.

The van had my Suommy Spec-1R helmet that's worth about $1000 in it and the car JVC MP3/WMA player that was in it. Stupid me, left the face plate in the glove box cause I couldn't be arsed with taking it out of the van. So that's probably gone too. Other than that, I am suspecting some missing speakers, neon lights, gear knobs, spool wet weather glove etc.. Oh yea, and my CD collection that I had built up since the last time they stole my last lot. Fuck it!! I'm not buying no more CD's from now on. I've had it. Only MP3s. Hopefully house and contents insurance might cover some the above. Hopefully..

Anyway, past is past. Now I'm gonna install one hell of a car alarm and I'm never ever parking it on the street side!

Cheers again. :)

Another update on the situation.

I just got a letter from AMI today. It said Dear bla bla (addressed to me), Our client Mr and Mrs X have made a claim for the accident your vehicle was involved in on the 12th of June. I'm like... Huh, me... crash something other than 2 wheels? That's never happened as of yet! (touch wood)

Then I click, the mother F-in low lives stole my van on the 10th and did a hit and run somewhere on the 12th! Luckily I had already made the police report on the 11th so I'll be on the clear.

But now I know that it's not just smashed windows I have to worry about. :(

Van found by cops... apology pending me thinks???... Mmmmmm... Tui!!!

Alright. The cop was off duty and yea it would have been nice if he went out of his way to do something about it at the early hours but I won't hold it against him. When he's not wearing his uniform and he isn't inside his working hours, he's free to do his own thing.

The only anoying thing here as far as the Police goes, is that they are taking a whole week just to finger print the vehicle when it's been sitting in the rain in the tow yard. I've been calling the tow yard and they say, it's not up to them. I called the cops and the whatever warden responcible for dealing with these situations is away till Tuesday. I think vegetation might be ready to grow from the wet seats due to broken window. Ahhh fuck, it's gonna be one hell of a mess to clean up...

Motu
17th June 2006, 22:37
Make sure it's actualy at the tow yard too - I had one where the cops rung and told me the vehicle had been recovered and was at **** yard. But the tow yard gave me the run around for a week before they admitted they didn't have it.Turns out it was taken again before they picked it up,the cops had it cleared in their books.....I said forget it.

wow, sorry to hear MR.... joy riders are pricks....
my Dad's Holden race car was stolen from our shed a few years back....
raced from west, to shore, to east, to south before they got cought....
funny thing was, dad cought up in his monaro (he had installed the same engine in his street car as was in the race car..lol) and cought the guy when he lost control...
glad you got it back, even if its worse for wear...

The only anoying thing here as far as the Police goes, is that they are taking a whole week just to finger print the vehicle when it's been sitting in the rain in the tow yard....

Dry fingerprint powder and rain water don't mix...see if you can get a tarp placed "carefully" (so you don't ruin any possible prints or put your own on there...) over the broken window to stop the rain getting into the van...

Motoracer
10th July 2006, 22:09
Right, here's how the story ends.

When I finally chased up the cops to get the van out of the tow yard, the cop was like "Oh... hmm... Don't know why there was a delay, just give me a min and you'll be able to pick it up today". That's after 1.5 weeks of stuffing around, he reckons the paper work just got misplaced. *sigh*..

Alright, so I was all set to pick up my Van. Went there and had a look.. Fuck me.. Side windows on both sides smashed with big rocks that were still in the van. Back window smashed. Stereo ripped out of the dash damaging the dash, speakers ripped out of the van (all four of them). Neon lights stolen. My Suomy Spec-1R gone as well as Spool wet weather glove. Tagging, taggin and more fukin tagging. Stupid fukin shit is printed all over the van. roof, side walls, dash, sun visor, etc etc. Now to top it all of the gear box was blown and it was fukin stuck in reverse. Cunt!

So I had to tow my van to my work where I stored it for a week till I could sort out something. Cheers for that boss!

Then my hero Mr. Firefight and his top buddies from the firefighting crew save the day by managing to get me freebe bits for the van. They were as good as angels through this whole hell hole of an ordeal! Cheers F/F! :innocent:

Then Texmo helped me get the parts back to base where the van was.

So I got freebee windows and shit but still had to fit the freebe gearbox to the van. Uppon closer inspection, it was a no go. The freebee gearbox was slightly different so it wasn't going to go in! Now WTF do I do?

Then mine and specially Death_Inc's good mate Tux who is a pro auto Mechanic spent all of his Saturday and Sunday working on my blown gearbox. He took it all appart and rebuilt it better than it was before! Fuck that guy is a legened!! All that costed me was some smokes, beers and a feed for him. Saved again. :innocent:

So now the van is running a bit better than it was before with better looking windows (old ones had shitty old tints anyway). Only down side here is the JVC MP3/WMA player and speakers I had in it are gone. Oh well, I'm not too bothered with that..

Oh yea, the insurance for house and contents are going to cover for the helmet and gloves in the van after telling them the full true story.

Whooora for everyone who pitched in to help! :doobey:

It'll never do proper donuts. Fukin idiots were just being dicks. No tire wear and clutch still has meat left in it.

Plus I had already bought it some 16' six spoke rims with low profile tires that I had not put on the van yet (lucky!)

I am not sure if I'll still keep the van though... Might do it up by chucking on the gold 16 rims and paint it yamaha blue with full yamaha racing levery or just buy a smaller newer van..
