Also wondering if anyone knows if Honda are going to bring the CBR150 into NZ, could be an awesome cut-price learner bike that would be a brilliant reliable cheap to run commuter/courier.

you allowed 150's in bucket racing?

Yep, I'm pretty sure I read about some bucket racing involving FXR150's. This is pretty much exactly the same thing as the FXR's... only a Honda, and cooler looking.

Still haven't done any research about compliance difficulties here in NZ, as I don't think there have been any imported here yet. Blue Wing won't get back to me by email. So I'll just keep looking into it.

2 classes in bucket racing, iirc:
50cc 2 stroke and 100 4 stroke
100cc 2 stroke and 150cc 4 stroke...

Saw at least one fxr on the weekend at the mt wellington racing, and another that could have been.

I doubt that the cbr150r will be brought in at a distributor level, as they have been available in overseas markets for a few years I think. I would guess this is because of the much stricter license conditions (think EU)

Now there's a surprise. You realise they refer to themselves in the third person as "God"?

I thought it was the royal 'We' they referred to themselves as..

The funny thing about the CBR150 is that it has HOW many cylinders? How many cylinders does every other CBR have?

It is missing three.

And I think that guy deserves points for doing a burnout.

And those women are bloody attractive.

I really don't think the Spencer family need any more money.

in about 03 honda imported some CBR 125-R's, boyd's had one, i think they only got 3 -5 of em in the country.
a bit pricey, around the 5k mark.(i think)
nice bikes though, better finished than the FXR.
oh, that ad is bloody cheesy, like the mag and turbo ad on prime!

A guy in Welli has a cbr150 bucket. There was a road legal complete bike for sale in New Plymouth for 3k a year or two ago.

Those CBR125's are quite popular here in Korea right now. There's a special race series for them too~ (but all racing mysteriously vanished this year...?)

The CBR150R is a DOHC engine apparently, so goes a bit better than the 125 (SOHC).
They don't get the 150 in Korea 'cos you need a big bike license (it's over 125cc) to ride 'em, so nobody does...

How much are the 125's over there and do they come up for sale much.

Nice looking bikes saw them in SE asia a couple of years back when I went to the Jakarta Motorcycle Show.. Dont think the prices were all that bad.

Imported bikes are a bit pricey here - I think I paid more for my 600 than I would in NZ. Also just realised that gas is 1500won per litre - or $2.50NZD! (didn't think I was getting very far on $20 gas...)

A quick browse on the internet shows a '04 CBR125 going for 2,300,000 won - about $3,800NZD. A bit pricey for a used 125...

Oh yeah, the CBR125's footpegs are really low and touch down easily - definitely needs rearsets for racing. (see pic)

edit: If you've got one, I might be able to hook you up with a free-flow exhaust like the one in pics. Possibly rearsets too. PM me and I'll look into it.

More CBR125 shenanigans...
...I'd recommend a helmet if you're up to this sort of tomfoolery.
Hurrumph... kids these days... *grumble* poo stains...
