You seem to be missing a whole heap of bikes between 1000 and 1200....

And what about 350s, 500s, 650s, 800s to name a few

CBR1000FL. Heavy beasty that it is. Getting used to it. Would go back to a 250 if I decided to get in to racing then work my way up to a 600 or 750. The CBR1000 is great for touring and two-up, which are my main usages now. Will probably go to a lighter bike next (the steel frame on this thing is heavy).

:Oi: Ya' left out 650 so I voted 600.
I've owned heaps of bikes from 50cc through to 1340 but I always seem to come back to 500-650.The type of roads I prefer to ride has a lot to do with it,These being mainly class three roads that are tight an twisty. If I was into main road touring I would go for something like a 750 or larger but for me that sort of power is wasted.I also kind'a like to thrash it and if I did that on a bigger bike it would probably get messy :o

One is 1000cc and the other is 50cc, does that make two votes for 525cc?
James Deuce
21st May 2004, 14:55
Oh yeah! I still have the 600 in the garage as well. That would be two for lemme see.... 850+600 = 1450 - 2 votes @ 725 :)
Cajun
21st May 2004, 15:32
can i count what is in my garage?
1200
600
1000
600
and 250cc 4 wheeler
that comes to 3650 /4 = 912.5
hehehhe
i didn't even count the v twin lawn mower either

Yes but all the main Playas have changed brand since then.
About as loyal as a hungry pitbull riders.

OK, this suggests a loyalty poll - how long have you stayed with the brand you're currently riding (again for the main bike in your life) has this been done before? I've had the 1100 since 1990, the 400 since about 92 or 93

Bought the 1200 Bandit cos it slowed me down after a couple of screaming 600s that just begged me to thrash the tits off them every time I rode.
200
250
400
650
750
I figured I'd vote for 600.

25th May 2004, 21:16
all right! I have 160hp to the litre on my RG50 wolf....man now thats power. My rgvs are about 60hp so that makes them 240hp per litre. Somehow I dont think the 750's will count for much!

Where's fpsware? - first he starts a poll that leaves most people's bikes out and then buggers off and doesn't fix it or make a comment. :)
Mutter, grumble,....
Might have to buy an old British twin so I can be even more curmudgeonly.

come on two-strokesand the RS about 248/litre, factory. they can easily get around 75hp with pipes and jetting, which makes for 300hp/litre.

Ok, 50+50+100+100+200+200+750+900 all divided by 8 = 293.75cc, but if I add the van it comes to an even 450 :shake:
The race 50 does a genuine 286bhp/litre without any imaginary parts added. :Pokey:
I reckon the cc figure of a bike is as arbitrary as a person's age: e.g. my XR600 and my bro's GSXR600 are different in just about every way (aside from the fact that they are both motorcycles).
It was interesting to see the proportion of participants in 250 or less category though, quite a few!

My car club [ sorry ]will be hosting a dyno night in the next two months, and we do have a frame to put bikes on the rolling road still I think.
But I will let folks know when it is going to happen, will be out west Ak and last time it was only 40 bucks a go, cheap way of really knowing whats real and what is imagined HP eh?

NC30 there is a dyno in tauranga, down hewlets road, in gp_trading, he also imports alo tof 250/400 and they race a bit as well if ya want a dyno go there, my bike will be going on the dyno once it hit 6000km and gets its second service

I find the F650 ideal for the type of ridding I normally do (including getting off the seal now and then)

Le Voxan with a stuffed chain and 12 and a half percent more teeth on the rear sprocket turned about 94HP, after-market pipes would make a difference. At the moment it's running a 2 into 1 as I've got one side blocked off while I play at changing the appearance and exhaust note of the mufflers. Thank goodness for the balance tube. So it's a bit throttled back by the orifice right now but still managed 200k's (closed road, honest) on a group run this evening.
And honestly, who wouldn't vote 1000cc if they were 4cc short?

My 1200 is really 1157cc. Sorry, no button for that size.
Also, which method would you like me to use for the cc rating of my rotary?
165 cc per combustion chamber per single crankshaft revolution,
500 cc per combustion chamber per single rotor revolution (effective swept volume).
1500 cc when rated for competition riding.
Suzuki use the 500 cc rating, NZACU use the 1500 cc rating. But its still only 65 BHP.
