why's it all getting so angular & jagged?!
what happened to smooth sexy lines....? or am i just being too 'italian'...
altho', it does look a bit less extreme than the current ones...

Suzuki will launch a new GSX-R1000 in 2007 designed to take the fear-factor out of riding a 180bhp bike.
Where's the fun in that? That's what Gixxers were all about... they're just gonna end up turning them into fucken Hondas.

That's pretty ugly... I don't like where Jap bike design is going at the moment. It's all a bit rubbery and flowing... like something a little more angular myself.
As much as the mirrors look ghey (although I think the camera lense/angle has a lot to answer for here), I'd rather have dumb looking ones that work, than good looking ones for inspecting elbows with.

That Aprilia V4 looks interesting although I'm sure it won't look as good as the artists impression. Looks like the 999 will get a 1200cc vtwin. Interesting indeed. Will be replacing the CBR next year so it appears there's gonna be plenty of choice.

Yep, 07 looks like a vintage year with all the change in the European brands.

Hang about but... aren't MCN renowned for posting absolute BS?
Clearly this is just some graphic artist's concept of what it 'might' turn out like, right? Or have Suzuki made an official release? Isn't it a bit early?
Where's the rest of the story?

not to sure how that picture will look against real one, since that picture i saw a good 2 months ago. so could be one of motorcycle news 'artists' ideas

it doesn't look that big aye...
*will reserve my opinion until I've seen one in real life*

at least it still has a side exit exhaust!
i dont know about anybody else but i cant stand underseat pipes!!!
Oooo aaaahh, wow an artists impression of what the *front* of an '07 Gixxer will probably look like?? Doesn't look entirely different than the '06 anyway. :zzzz:
And saying it's going to be "designed to take the fear-factor out of riding a 180bhp bike" is hillarious not to mention near impossible. The idea of a "completely redesigned engine" is intriguing though...

The vertical exit ones on the new duke look brilliant imho. The exhaust cansiter is completely hidden, not like the monstosities you get sticking out the back of blades, Kwaks etc

hmm.
its not a great angle for the picture though.
makes the head look big and fat and sit too high.
the tail looks too small and not upswept enough. but it is probably just the angle of the drawing.

Just found this on another site, they reckon that the thou won't have the little zorst as the 600/750 cause it makes to much emission, so undertail might be on the cards....

Meh, raptors and rockets are some of the biggest photochoppers about. Doubt they'd have two pipes though, that would mean two cats and twice as much weight?

Yeah..I realize that. But they make up a pic from the new info that they have of the bike. And it is GP tech, so why not?

But they have no info on the bike... not even one referenced source do I see on the link you provided. GP tech why not, probably weight. GP bikes can get away with it because they have no cats, and essentially hollow mufflers.

Hey Zapf, apparently it's coming out next month, better stick the 954 on the market now then :)
I think with the new Gixxer, Suzuki are looking at more bottom and mid range grunt.
Think the 06 ZX10R looks quite cool with the aftermarket pipes, esp in black!

And for the fact that the GP bike is a V4 i could understand having a seat exit and side exit pipe, but the GSXR is still the old inline four we love and yeah it'd make no sense at all to go underseat and side exit, no point, heavy.
Unless they made a V4 GSXR, hmmm now that would be pretty fkn cool!
hard to say what the K7 is gonna look like at this stage, you'd expect it to go towards the K6 600/750 styling, i doubt they'll go underseat exhaust set up at least i hope they dont, will see soon enough i guess.
