Finally managed to sell my car, and I've also managed to negotiate with the missus how much the house renovation/new bike money split will be.

If anyone has a carbed SV650S for sale at a laughably low price, PM me.

Whats a laughably low price?
Not really willing to sell yet though.

Weeeell, let's put it this way: the lowest I've seen a '99 listed for is $7K. I don't have $7K.

So yeah, I'm pissing in the wind.

I've seen a few 1st gen SV's for that much or more on trademe as well. Bit overpriced in my opinion. Thats what I paid for mine about 2 years ago.

If I were in the market, i'd probably take a minimum of about $5g. The ones on trademe do all seem to be pretty low k's though, which mine isn't. I guess the problem with a bike like an SV is once people buy them and put a few k's on them they realise how good they are and aren't too keen to sell them. I only planned to keep mine for a couple of months untill I was ready for a 'big bike'.

Good luck though. Never know what might pop up.

sold mine to TSS last year for less than 6, they put it on the lot for 7995. I think it's still there.

At that price it's almost worth saving the extra couple of grand for a new one

Did the bandit 400 deal not work out?

That'd be a sweet step up from the VTZ of doom El Dopa!

They are definately on my 'post full-licence' shortlist for in a few years time.(When I've got my arse a worthy job...)

Good luck

Thats my opinion, too. The prices just don't seem to be dropping. I've seen a 2003 injected spikey for sale for the same price as a 2000 curved carby ($8k).

$5K I can stretch to, just. $7-8k I can't.

Did the bandit 400 deal not work out?

Guy took his bike back from the dealer and was going to get the alledged dodgy bits checked out before giving me first refusal. That was a few weeks ago, and I've stopped holding my breath. If he comes back to me I'll certainly be interested, but if I had the cash, I'd take the SV for preference.

i see a fellow KB member is selling his steed with race trim and road gear for a swell price of $6.5k, considering all the work its had done i'd say its at a laughably low price.

Does look well worth it, but 1.5K I don't have is still 1.5K I don't have.

Keep on saving, I suppose.

if i were you i'd get in touch and see if you can give him $5k up front and then pay the remaining $1.5k off over some period, just gotta ask mate. I'm in half a mind as to whether i might buy this bike myself... depends what happens with my commitments for the second half of the year.

That did occur to me.

Bad time for me to have to do some hard thinking - exams in 2 weeks.

Might drop in for a chat Sat morning on my way to work if you're around.
