Something is wrong with my CBR250RR, I was leaving work the other day and as I went to take off from the lights and stalled. Now some would say Im a bad rider..... BUT it seemed like the bike wasn't firing on one of the cylinders (I dont know all the bike terms here) so it sounded like it was a Subaru instead or a bike and it had no power... once I got through a second set of light and stopped at the third it seemed to kick back into full power and away i went.

I thought it may be a Spark plug or something but I need to check that 2morrow when I have a day off.

Other thing is when Im sitting stationary I can hear a slight knocking noise. It doesnt sound so bad when I pull the Clutch in. The bike has plenty of oil so thats not the problem.

Ohh and it is running fine again today. Just one of those random defects. its the 1994 cbr just incase someone needs to know that.

Thanks

If it is not running on one cylinder you can possibly tell which one by touching the exhaust for each cylinder and one should colder. That said if it is a temporary misfire that probably won’t help.

BE CAREFUL as they are HOT and BURN QUICKLY.

It is quite common for both bikes and cars to have a bit of a rattle or be a bit noisy when say sitting at the lights in neutral with the clutch out. Not really sure what it is I figure it could be a number of things, but I have never bothered to find out as it is so common I have just thought of it as normal.

My CBR had the same rattle. It had something to do with gear driven cams, so dont sweat it.

Your bike might be running a bit rich, misfiring on a cylinder and have a blockage in one of the carbs. Check the plugs and replace all of them if you think you need to. Alyhough, the way you describe it stalling and then returning to full power makes me think fuel blockage....

Good luck

Hey man, when I start up my CBR in the morning and stuff, it doesn't fire all cylinders immediately. It takes a while (until i'm revving properly in 2nd or 3rd). I think thats normal, just heating up prob

strange, I wouldnt call it normal. But I will be checking the spark plugs 2morrow and I think Ill be doing a service just to see if it makes a difference at all
