Rossi qualifying first is of more interest to me. Normally not the worlds greatest at that task.

Roberts did well at the last practice a week or two ago.
He's running a high spec RCV211 motor, in their own chassis which they discussed the design with HRC. Looks like its kicking there asses. Honda won't be happy :)
Rossi has a bike with a new chassis, and he's quoted as saying its only 4 hours old (just built that morning basically).
One of the reasons Rossi doesn't seem to qualify well is due to the fact he rarely uses a qualifying tire unlike everyone else. He always runs race rubber to get as much time on it as possible. Obviously pays off as he usually looks the most comfortable on shagged tires.

Omg, 1 sec covering the top 14. Thats pretty insane. All the hondas are down the back too. Should be an interesting race, which lap you reckon hoppers will crash?

Marknz
18th June 2006, 11:56
Hopper will try and stay with Rossi for the first 6 laps or so, then his tires will give up under the strain...

What time is the actual race, I just want to get up in time for that and miss the 125 and 250. As much as I love watching it all I find my work suffers on monday for it.

I thought so to. When he got off the bike and had a wee lye down before the restart, I was pretty worried he wouldn't race. Dynamic effort for someone that banged up.

Thought it was interesting hearing Kevin Schwantz speak of how much better the Suzuki camp's getting along since KR left.

Even though we didn't have much choice of what to watch near the end it was still a riveting race to the end - Rossi's smoking powerslides on the last few corners were great, you could just feel his excitment there! Good on KR Jnr getting back on the podium - he stepped off a winning bike at the end of the 500 GP's and onto a dud, finally kicks the shit goodbye and under his father's wing again to see some results.Stoner is still a bit eager,I didn't think Rossi was too worried there,he knew what was coming.Pedrosa was on the spare bike, but I think he over stepped himself too in the desire to catch up.Still early in the first season for those two...this is just their curtain raiser.

Yeah they woke me up :-)

Stoner is still a bit eager

I was reminded of the saying,
"It's easier to slow a fast kid down than to make a slow one go fast."

Looked like the 1st corner crash was caused by a front lock up on top of the white line by the Ducati. Farken nasty crash.

Good riding by the top 4 finishers.

Someone mentioned the brake lever impacting Caparossi, my version wasnt the best quality though! so couldnt see too much in the replays.
