It was cold and wet. I just managed to fix up the bike from a spill at the test day last weekend, and it took a bit to get back into the swing of things.

Qualified 6th in F3, which was OK.

Race 1: Average start. settled down for the long run, being a 15 lapper. Settled into 5th. After about 5 laps I was feeling a bit better and was reeling in the 2 bikes ahead of me. I was lining them up when the red flags came out. Barry New had gone down through the esses and wasn't moving much. So that was it. Can't complain about that, but was a little disapointed that I hadn't gone for it a bit earlier, as it was I missed out on a top three finish.

Race 2: Better start this time. keeping up with the front runners. After a couple of laps was into 2nd. Bike felt good and I was quite happy with the pace. Then through the esses my left hand grip came off the bars. That caused quite a moment and I thought I might have to pull off. Got passed by the 2 pauls, but I figured out I wasn't going to let a stupid problem like this cost me points. Took a while to get used to not having any grip, but soon got passed paul number 1 and with 1 lap to go was right back on paul number 2. I thought about passing at every corner on the last lap, but due to the weather didn't want to push too hard. Waited till the sweeper and concentrated on getting a really good drive out onto the straight. Got passed and back into second just a few yards before the line. That was cool. Highest ever finish in F3.

And the most suprising thing? I'm now leading the F3 series. How the f##k did that happen. :) Anyway I'm stoked about that.

Congrats man, Paul Buckley is a legend in the wet on his RGV250, so if you beat him in those conditions you deserve respect. Also, good shaiser on leading the F3 Champs.
