Kiwirider had an article on it. Sounds like a great bike. It's meant to be loosely based on a trials bike and real easy to ride. Although it's a bit of a 'Jack of all trades, master of none'
My Dad was planning to get one, but then we found the Montesa

I wonder what they'd give me as a trade in for the DT230? Probably half what I'd get for it privately. The bike is more where I want to go off road....but less where I want to go on road.I've only ever sat on one,and the CG feels very low,it feels like the whole bike is below your knees.
Yeah I agree Motu it'd be a good bike if you trailered your bike to all the rides. Would need an auxilary tank in my opinion. bit like these (http://www.nomadtanks.com.au/)

5 Grand is a great price for a 250 adventure/trail bike. I'm happy with my beast though.

I think you will find that the $5,332.44 would be exluding GST.
Add GST and it will take it up to the 6000 area.
All the other listed prices are inclusive of GST.

I gather from your write up on the MMMMM ride that you've got one of these. What model have you got? Where did you get it? How much was it? What do you think of it? I really need some more range and this look like a possible alternative to a 2L coke bottle.

I have ridden one and they are a great little bike and would like to have one in my shed, for the real ugly tracks.
They are not really a race type bike, but are great fun bike to ride and will take you any where you want to go.
Small compacted and easy to ride with enough power to get you up anything and with a large fly wheel to get traction in the trickiest places, with great brakes.
A real nice bike and one of the only few small motored trail bikes I would like to own. :Punk: :2thumbsup

Fuck no! you wouldn't race the pampera. its a basic trail bike. based on a trials motor so it tractors along.
only have a quick ride of one a few years ago and seemed good.

I have a tourtank from www.tourtank.com the model I have is the 2.0 gallon one. But had I known about these I would have gotten this instead.

So you'd rather have one even uglier than the one you've already got?

Is the Pampera oil injection or premix?
If its the latter its not really suitable as an adventure bike IMO - too much hassle/f.....g around.

Just checked and they are a premix.
There aren't to many oil injection trail bikes any more, from what I have seen.
You can get some nifty and small measuring bottles now days.
For me it's not the premixing it's carry extra gear in the pack.
But then again on the old trials bikes we rode (mine a RL250) we carried a pill bottle of oil (or more than one bottle), to which we new how much petrol to add.
Got some funny looks as we shook the shit out of the bike's to mix the oil in to the petrol.

On a organised adventure ride, like a Britten one - they truck the fuel to the lunch stop, depends on how much it holds. My BSA Bantam had an oil measure built into the filler cap,so you could mix at the pumps...and shake the booty. My DT230 has a pump, and the tank lasts about 800km,so it's a big day,or two days riding to need to carry extra. So the Pampera is really a bike you ride from your trailer, and back - perfect for trail rides. As an adventure bike - only for organised stuff, for someone like me who tends to wander irrationaly it could be a problem. But if I had one I'd use it for the intended purpose.
