I wont be in for at least two weeks til I've sorted my licence and taken possession of my ducktaped beast.
Once all that is sorted I'd certainly be keen (babysitter dependant). Places I'd like to explore include Akaroa. Summer will be the real goer though doing the Arthurs and Lewis Pass'.
Over the Port Hills is good except for the amount of cars.
What was wrong with your gsx?

The thing with me, is that I'm some what of a sook when it comes to riding in the kinda shit that this w/e was made of.
But there will be the odd good day.......... well about an hour and a half of a day were it will be nice to go for a ride before winter realy sets in.
So We'll T something up, I'd like to get one last ride into Akaroa.

I'm always keen for a ride.
If you can make it on a Sunday, between 11:30am and 4pm.(she got to work)
Mrs Lemans will come along on her GN250 now that she has moved up to
having a restricted, and can do the full speed legally on the beast.(finally)

*yawn*....... aye what? where, who, how...... ohh yeh a ride huh! well lets just see what the weather is up to on the day aye and then we will go from there.
A ride would be good would have to try and find the bike in the garage as I havent seen it for a couple of weeks..... I think its behind the munted work van  , spose I'd better tell the boss about that one too sometime .
So stay tuned and I'll let the others know and we'll see if we cant make it to Akaroa maybe, if that suits
Well it is supposed to be fine on saturday but the long range forecast didn't go till sunday. But I will probably go if most other people go and it is fine.
Sportzone suzuki isn't the best place to meet, probably somewhere on the outskirts of the city is best. Where was that place that we met last time dangerous?

Well I think that it will depend on where we are going to ride, to where we
should meet?
IF we are going around the bays, maybe to Diamond Harbour.
We could meet near Sal's work.(and could start the ride closer to 11:00am)
Across the road from the Ferrymead Tavern, there is a Cafe.
Thats not to far from the tunnel turn off.
Just a idea.
We should because of the weather "T" it up on Saturday night.
Or Sunday morning on the net.
So it's true that Fire Storm's shrink in the wet, and turn in to VTR250's ;)

Well I rekon central city is best, We All know where it is, it may eb a good idea to note, I cant ride faster than 80kph (run in limits on the engine)
Around teh bays sounds like a good idea though :D
I thought it was akaroa, thats the best place to go. Then come back through governors bay etc, that will be sweet.
I'm not going to go all the way in there and then all the way back, so I will meet up with you guys some other places.

The central city is a bigish place, would you like to narrow it down a bit. :Pokey:
As K14 said somewhere on the outskirts of the city maybe better.
I'm not to sure if Sal will want to ride all the way to Akaroa, but may ride to
the Hill Top Pub.
Other wise she will jump on the back of the Guzzi.
But that is OK, as she has not been on the back for a long time now, and is
looking forward to getting on the back again.

27th May 2004, 20:32
If we do do the extra distance Sal could always ride as far as she fells like and then jump on the back with you Lm, that way you get a stint solo and 2up. Or she could ride the storm with me but if it rained and the storm shrank and so did we, then we'd never find her again :msn-wink:
Running in is over rated IMO Put 500km on then ride in normaly most inportantly very the revs ie: 70-90-80-100 oh bugger it 110-80 etc.
I dont know why Suzuki have such ridged rulls for running in when Honda dont have any at all.
If i was getting a new beast I would take the hard run in method, it is all a load of bollocks anyway. They rev the engine out in all gears in the factory before they send it out, so it is sweet. Apparantly the best break in method is the ride it like you stole it one.
But yeah, don't mind how far we go, but would like to go to akaroa if it is a nice day. Don't mind riding home solo, just want to get some good twisties.

My plans have change again.
Looks like we are now going to Akaroa after all.
We will be leaving my place about 11:30 as Sal has to get home and the other couple have to ride in from Amberly.
One has not been to NZ before and the other has not been to Akaroa for
8 years as he has been doing the OE thing.
We depending on the weather will be going around the bays etc'
to get there, so if you still want to meet up going there.
Out side the Little River Cafe (the tin shed).
Not a 100% sure what you guys are riding so wave us down.
Or will see you there, keep a look out for a red mk 4 and a red and black MK 3
(may have a full fairing on) Moto Guzzi's, both will be 2 up.
PS: there maybe a V Max as well

Merv (1000S)would come for the ride as well, but is preping his bike for the Brass.
Has his tank off to get it resealed on monday.
After thinking about it last night.
It may not pay to wait for us as the tourist's may stopping any where,
and for any amount off time.
So will meet you there. :apint:

It was a good ride and a great day, with light traffic.
cheetor you were not susppose to keep up, as you where running in your bike.
Next time your'll be right.
Or do you consider your bike run in now?
May do a smaller ride around the bays to Diamond Harbour,in a week or to.
And Ms Lemans will be on her GN250, so you should keep up then :msn-wink:
Yeah it was good to meet all of you guys. Was a pretty good ride, no incidences aswell. Was an awesome day for it.
Saw heaps of other bikers out aswell. Parked up next to a nice pair of ducs, 998 and 748 :eek5:
Hopefully there will be another fine day in the next few weeks to do it again.

Damn good day out. Note to self - must get out more often.
The BMW shows it's weight through the corners, and the fact that I am getting old and slow. Time for the leather patches on the cardigan and a pipe... at least K14 and Dangerous had time for a rest at regular occaisions.
