Hey guys.

Im doing up my honda at the moment, and the vin plate is damaged. Theres three numbers/letters you cant read.

What do i do about getting a new one. I thought about taking it down to vtnz and asking for a new one, but the vin plate is the only thing attached to the frame at the moment, im worried that might cause me some grief.

Please help, i want to get the frame sandblasted asap!

Cheers

I'm not sure, but I can't imagine that it would be a problem. They check the frame/engine/vin numbers on a COF so there is another check in there, and if you have a frame number, you should be able to get a VIN plate, just to go with your number. If it is just a replacement plate of the same number, then no problem at all as far as I can see....

Just call the LTSA. There is a form you have to fill out. They may require proof that the bike has not been written off and therefore require re-vinning.

no problem at all

had a bike where the vin plate was missing entirely, went in and they issued a new one

these vin plates have to be the most stupid idea the govt has ever thought of
