Something about breaking some of the sections down in to regions eg akl region, north island, waitako, bay of plenty etc etc.
Not to sure really in what way, but could be good for the events, or people can talk more about stuff in there own region, more easy.
Just an idea

people can talk more about stuff in there own reason,
they do at the moment, might help to divide them up so they can talk by Region though

I think you are a bit far away at the moment!
edit: and coding generally requires more accurate typing less one puts the wrong character and all of a sudden there is syntax errors and undefined objects blah blah

Yeah, kiwibiker isnt a very explicitly defined language. You just have to read cowpoo's posts to see that :).

I can remeber numbers easily like all the family car plates etc license number but tell me your name and I am likely to forget as soon as you finish saying it!
Like that guy who had the NC30 now a Gix 6 and is into push bikes, no idea of his name though!

Interestingly , the bit of brain used for remembering programming syntax and verbs etc is quite different to that used for remembering "ordinary" words and names.
Hence the phenomonen (bugger spelling that ) described.

It's probably not quite what you had in mind Neal, but have a look at this link: http://www.flyingferrets.eclipse.co.uk/business/registered%20ferrets.htm (- hope it works).
A mate of mine in the UK runs a website with the locations of members on a map if you scroll down the page. Admittedly its for a fairly small group but maybe something similar could be done in regional blocks rather than exact locations so that people could at least see who are within cooee if there are regional events. We have some darned smart techos on this site!

Segregating people/threads would suck, there are a couple of regions already that have their own thread, more specifically towns/cities. Thats fine with me, if you are talking about, for eg, me living in Rodney/Northland, only communicating with memebers from around here? Nah stink...... i like to take the piss out of everyone, not just a select few.......:blip:

its not segregating people total, anyone can go thru any area they want per say and have a look and talk, its just so sometimes going thru meetings and events trying to find in your area, is a pain.
Its just so alot of us in rest of country don't want to here about, something silly action that is happening in akl. its was more so people in local areas, can communate together alot easierly.
Eg
Section called Regions
Sub forums Akl, Bay of Plenty, wellington etc,
everyone as free range across all these forums, but means subjects related more to there specific areas can be talk about, and like.

I've been playing with a Google maps API for a few days and think I can knock summit up. How about peeps submitting a new event/meeting thread having the option to click the location on the Google map?

WINGE STUFF
I know, but I want a Mk2...and they never imported them into this country <sigh>. I sold my 1998 Mk2 (30K miles, full Givi luggage, FSH, hand guards and heated grips) for < 5K so I reckon 5K for an older mark 1 is a p!shtake. Sorry to sound like wingeing Pomm (I'm a winger but not a pom) but 2nd hand bike prices in this country are a p!$$take and it's time they fell inline with the rest of the world.
Saving up for a Mk3 (900). Also looking at the DL650. BMW's new TRX850 (sorry.....F800ST) also looks a useful beastie for a > 6 footer (with more money than me).
CODE STUFF
Anways...I've got the code sorta knocked up on my test site (http://www.tearoha.com/subfinder.php). Now need speak to this site owner to see how it can be implemented on Kiwibiker. Probably just needs to add current login (vBulletin username), ride type (different ride/events to different images) and a date parameter (so it automagically erased past event markers).
Who runs this site?

Supply and demand bud. We're at the very end of a very long logistics chain.

So anyway...how do we get this site map thing moving?
