A few of us are planning a ride north. :scooter: Not sure how far but probably end up at Baylies Beach.
We are meeting at 9am on Saturday with an aim to leave by 9.30. Thats if, and its a big if, the weather isn't too bad.

As far as the route is concerned we will finalise it on the morning ,depending on numbers.

The pace won't be too quick :innocent: as one of the guys is running his bike in,So all are welcome.

So whos up for a cold ride?

WE ARE NOW PLANNING TO LEAVE WESTGATE AT 9AM. SO I SUGGEST MEETING AT 8.30 TO LEAVE AT 9....

Weather can't be any worse than the last time we went up north can it?*

How far north is Baylies beach?

*Note this is not a challenge to the weather gods.

Would be keen for this one as long as I can cancel my hair appointment.
Not doubt I can get hold of some of the Norfland Crew so y'all big smoke types can teach us about our antiquated(sp) ol' bikes and how to take 'em corners and stuff e hoa :blah: .
Weather has been awesome up this way in the mornings so I suggest an early start for you foam blowers to essure a good ride for at least most of the day.
If doing the Waipoua Forest we'll have to be careful as hell. This time of year it can/will be slippery in parts to say the least but if riding with that in mind all should be fine.
Oh and....

Nah, I went with Tom today and he put a deposit down my throat

Dunno... had one set of diablo's and will never go back. Were ok in the dry (a little slide now and again) but don't push to hard in the wet. And they got really interesting near the end of thier life. So they bring out the new "strada". Not to sure how they go cause once I switched to racetechs I havn't gone back to anything else.

Dunno... had one set of diablo's and will never go back. Were ok in the dry (a little slide now and again) but don't push to hard in the wet. And they got really interesting near the end of thier life. So they bring out the new "strada". Not to sure how they go cause once I switched to racetechs I havn't gone back to anything else.

Cheers, I'll bare that in mind. Gutted though as I was told (by cycletreads) that they are good in the wet!!!

If they are anything like the Z6's then there is nothing wrong with them in the wet. I just find the Z6 front steers a bit too slow thou. I would have fitted a M1 front and Z6 rear, which I have tried before. But if you were fitting them onto the Hornet I would have recommended the M3's.... they warm up really good and quick.

Shame about the over zealous policeman, from what I heard we wern't the only ones who got done that day. I think the cops are well and truely onto that road now which is a shame as it's a really good road in the 120 - 140 kmh range.

:sunny: what an awesome day, except for a certain law enforcement wanker.
thanks to everyone for a great turnout, and thanks to tl and the boys up norf for edumacating us on proper roads, not like the shitty roads around auckland. well worth the effort in getting out of the smoke.

nice bikes of annettes and tom.

sorry gixxer and blackbuell for getting the tickets.

so, how soon are we going to arrange a big ride norf again, the sooner the better? hows 4 weeks time sound.? 22nd/23rd july. it'll give everyone a chance to clear their calenders. any takers??????

pm me if your interested.

Neil, TL needs time to mentally recover from having a Hyosung overtake him, so it may be some time until the next ride.
