Found this beauty :gob:
Reckless but impressive, not really the done thing considering the location. But would have been a bit of an adrenaline charge.
Watch for the bump the bike hits a wee way into the clip :blip:

i have no idea what 300km+ looks like on a bike. but i always watch these videos and think to myself...
why doesn't it look faster?
must be some trick of the video camera...

me neither - you'd think that the cars being passed would look like you were doing 200ks pass a stationary car .... but they dont??

because the camera view is more panoramic  but if the camera was facing to the side or at the ground there'd be plenty of HOLY F@#%$ moments :gob:
So what bike is that? Look almost old style instrument dash?

judging that the road markings go past at about 10 per second, and they're about 1m in length, 1m gap, thats 20m a sec (these are just estimates), which is 1200m a minute, 1.2km, times 60 = 72000m an hour, or.... 72kmh... yeaaahhh... that sounds about right...

That clip is just bullshit. I estimate, judging by the speed road markings are going past and also time taken to pass beneath overbridges and past fixed structures, that the maximum speed achieved would be no more than 140kmh. 300kmh is seriously quick -- it's 5 kilometres a minute, or about 83 metres a second. At that speed, dotted line markings should appear more or less as a constant white line. Also if the oncoming traffic was travelling at 100kmh, that's a closing speed of 400kmh, or about 111 metres a second. No way our friend is travelling at anywhere near that speed or even half of it.

I agree with the above, but I must say I was quite suprised how slow my travels on the 300km/h+ bullet trains in Japan looked on video. Very fucking fast when you're standing metres away from one travelling at full noise (at a station, 3 sets of tracks with that particular train on the middle set. I tried to lock my eyes on one carriage and track it, it hurt my eyes! The sound, the wind, the force was just unreal.

Interesting video but going fast is just about twisting the throttle and having the resolve to stay that way come what may until all the power poles blend almost into a simulated picket fence.
If all goes well you will just have to run out of straight enough road sooner or later.
Having tried it a few times, I remain singularly unimpressed. (Bikes and cars)
Bloody boring really but on a track against other riders? Now that would be something!
I certainly haven't tried that but respect those who do, immensely.
Situation ethics people, a time and place for everything. John.

The first video seems true enough, in that he is doing somewhere around 300. Probably a bit less, but the low frame rate of the video conversion makes it seem a lot slower. The instruments look like an early blackbirds.
