being winter bikes sales are down so if somebody has to sell due to moving overseas or whatever....they have to sell it cheaper....great for a clever buyer ...not so good for the poor seller

My little FXR has gone up in value since I paid for it. $2000 when I got it with 4000km on the clock, some of them have been selling on trademe for ~$500 more than that with around 4 times the k's.

ah yes, but did it sell...
However, agree that with bikes like the GN and FXR, some canny buying can mean virtually zero depreciation (I believe more to do with ease of maintenance, economy, rather than the L-plate induced market of the 15 year old 250 4 cylinder jap imports)

Not looking to sell it just yet. I'll keep it till I can ride a 400 without incurring fines. Hopefully the market is as good in a year or so.
I don't think petrol prices will be going down faster than they go up, so its looking good. :2thumbsup

I think you should check out that seller first.
Sometime ago (maybe 1 month or so) he had two near new 2005 CBR600RR's for sale, one in blue and one in black/silver.
Either he's a rich racer or a bike importer of some sort or there's something dodgy.

if you don't like depreciation buy a harley sportster
they hold there prices better than most bikes
alternatively if you can't stand depreciation at all buy an e type jag they appreciate every year

perhaps just a 600 whore? buys the latest and is bored 5mins later...
wonder how much the 2006 R6 will be second hand when he gets round to it...
