Im brand-spankin new at this motorcycle thing and Im wondering if any Te Puke locals can give me some advice. I bought a 2002 fxr150 of trademe recently but I have no knowledge of mb what so ever and Im thinkin i should have it checked over and serviced. Is there somewhere local that anybody can recommend? I know I probably should have had someone look at it before i bought it ..but it was shiney and i liked the color :P

I also need some gear, and once again, I have no idea whats so ever. I dont care if I look like a poof, I just want something practical and safe. I dont even have a clue as to how much this sort of stuff is meant to cost.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I chuckled and shook my head at this, then I looked at your Avatar and noticed you were a female! Made sense to me then! You're not blonde as well? Sorry don't know Te Puke much, but check Kiwi Rider for advertised deals on a full set of gear. I bought a set this way and it's good stuff, not fancy like some rich people on here, but check my profile pic to see what it looks like. Of course you're probably nowhere near my size, but... :sunny:

yes Well..i was overwelmed by a very determind blonde moment. :o

I had been seriously thinkin about getting a mb for about 2 months prior. My bf didnt want to have anything to do with it, so i had to take the shaggin wagon to aucks on my own to get the bike. I didnt even start it up there. I just wheeled into the back of the van ..straped her down..and bought it home.

As soon as my bf saw it, im sure he was jealous. Now hes lookin for a MB and hes booked us both in to do our BHS for tomorrow.

LOL!!!! hope the bike is good! They've got a good rep and they're pretty stylish. Glad the Bf is supportive now you've got it. Start slow and don't overcook the enthusiasm and fall off! Hope you both enjoy getting into biking!

2much (male) and wybmadiity (female) are both down in Te Puke. 2much checked out my bike for me - he's a good bloke.

As for gear, if you do a quick search of the site you'll find heaps of useful threads...espeically in the newbies section.

Cheers...and enjoy :scooter:
