View Full Version : Kawasaki ER-6f - 1,000 mile review
Well, I've now racked up over a thousand miles on the ER-6f, so thought it was time to put thoughts down on (virtual) paper. I've taken it on motorways, major "A" roads and smaller "B" roads. I've commuted, I've done long-distance and I've played. And here are my findings so far:
Hope this is useful - I genuinely think this bike is going to win quite a few fans and is well worth considering if you want a bike that is going to give a mixture of practicality and fun. (http://www.bobpickett.co.uk/bkit/2006er6f.htm)

Great write up Bob, thanks.
Had a looky at a black one and a silver one of these yesterday. Have to say, like the look of them better than the naked ones, but still a tad on the 'ugly and weird' side for me. Still, wouldn't mind taking one for a spin. Had thought about trying the ER6F when I was in the market, but in the end the Hornet won due to being just a bit sexier. Just my thoughts.

Wot she said!
I liked the idea of these when I first saw the pics and haven't heard anyhting but good stuff about them since. The 'f' is on my short list to replace my 'F' when the time comes. Thinking about reports on all the new bikes and the criticisms of them, I'd be interested in a comparo of my own bike, as though it were being evaluated as a new one. Know what I mean? If a new bike has certain issues re: handling or performance, how bad would my 16 year old bike fare side by side?
Maybe this needs another thread.
Mine has its idiosyncrasies, such as vibes and maybe handling, but for my level of skill, it's lightyears ahead of my old T500, so if a modern tester rode it would it be panned mercilessly by comparison with something like the Er6f? IN other words, how far have modern bikes really progressed? The Sports, thou's etc. have very obviously benefitted at the cutting edge of technology, but your "normal, everyday bike" such as this class. I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts.:scooter:

Mrs H has one of these earmarked for her next bike. Subject to a satisfactory test ride.
