Two lucky barstewards, i know :bleh:

Lucky??? :Pokey: I read the review in October Performance Bike mag comparing the F4 with the Japper litre bikes, and I wouldn't say you are lucky. A beautiful thing to look at I must admit...................... But I quote.......

"And it is by far and away the most uncomfortable bike here to ride. I'm not exaggerating when I say that after anyone has ridden this bike for any length of time, they're not keen to get back on in a hurry................ 5 different riders with different riding styles and preferences reached virtually the same conclusions about the MV. ................... After shelling out 14000 (POUNDS that is!) I'd be inclined to take the MV straight back to where I bought it from."

Sorry but this doesn't exactly inspire me to want to buy an MV F4 eh? Lucky?? Hmmmmmmmmm.

While I would agree at slow speeds the F4 (750 by the way) is a little uncomfortable, when the speeds reach 80ish (mph) thing really start click into place.. I would not like to comute on one :eek5: But that is why we have other bikes

Holy shit - you must be kidding me!! It sounds like you have had a bad experience mate, but come off it don't generalise. Honda's are famous the world over for their build quality and reliability. All the independant journalists say so as do the statistics. Sure there's bound to be some bad eggs out there.

My first ever bike was a DT125. It died a horrible death at just 6 months old. Some serious shit with the power valve and pistons If I remember correctly (you can tell I'm not mechanicaly minded!), but I'd never say all Yams are crap. Most yes - but not all. :Pokey:

Would have to agree with Biff Baff on that...... explain the VFR from 86 to the present, just one example The CX 500/650 Turbo is another one, these bikes are un fultable from mecanics to the paint finish.
Now I have only just gone back to Honda so I'm not intilely biest and FWIW the VTR isent up to the standards that the bikes were in the 70's, 80's & 90's but then its bloody good bang for buck.

I DONT THINK MUCH OF MOST MOTORCYCLE MECHANICS BUT ONE OF THEM I RESPECT THE MOST SWEARS BY YAMAHA BUILD QUALITY, HE HAS WORKED ON ALL BRANDS AND HAS BEEN IN THE BUSINESS A LONG TIME , IVE NEVER THOUGHT OF YAMAHA AS THE BEST QUALITY BUT HE DOES , BUT HE DOESNT RATE HONDA VERY HIGHLY EITHER.IVE HAD A REAL GOOD RUN OUT OF KAWASAKI AND SUZUKI , IVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH HONDAS.I CANT COMMENT ON YAMAHA AS IVE NOT OWNED ONE THAT WOULD LET ME COMPARE APPLES WITH APPLES,AS IVE ONLY OWNED AN OLD TRALLIE YAMAHA. BACK TO MY LAST HONDA WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT A BRAND NEW BLADE THEIR FLAGSHIP BIKE AND IT WOULDNT RUN PROPER HONDA COULDNT FIX IT THE MECHANICS COULDNT FIX IT , AND THEY LEFT IT AT THAT :weep: SADEST SUMMER OF MY LIFE

First bike was a Suzuki RG150, loved it to bits. Was loaned a Honda XRB200 to take on dirt roads down south - loved that too, although you'd get overtaken by trucks on the hills! Next bike was a BMW F650CS - still got it, but it's for sale at the right price. Love the styling, love the colour, love the performance, handling and riding position (and all the extras!), but find the height a little intimidating for a shorty. Lastest bike is a Suzuki SG350N (Goose) and I love it too! Great gearbox, corners like it's on rails, and just so much fun to ride. I've never had any trouble with any of my bikes, and there is something about the Suzukis that I really like.

We've also got a CBX550, TT350, XT550 and R100RS in the garage, so it's not like we are stuck on one brand!

Have owned a good selection over the years. I'd buy/ride anything but a Kockasucky. A totally unjustifed and illogical exclusion, based only on the fact that I know that Kockasuckies want to kill me.

If I were buying a new bike I think I'd find it hard to go past my first love, the mighty Bonnie.

But if it were possible, my all time grail has got to be a Velocette 500.

Every bike I've ever owned (except the Kockasucky) I've really liked. Even the dreadful Jawa 350. (Hm, maybe not the Hobby scooter I guess).

Had a kwaka for a while, then moved to Honda (VF500, CBR1000)... In a previous occupation - I rode Yamaha (XJ750, XJ900), BMW (mainly R80, but had a K100 for a while) ... Now sitting with the Hayabusa (after having the GSXR1100)...

All the ones I have had, have done me proud with no major issues.. So, the short story is.. Dont mock it until you've tried it :niceone:

Have had a lot faster bikes in the past but love my wee Zook EnZed 250.
Very economical. handles well, and not too slow for what it is.
Then there's the VTR, bought cheap but the money just keeps piling in to keep that v-twin humming.
Finally there's UMA, the 1963 Yamaha 75cc YG-1....I will restore it one of these days, she's 7 years older than I am :slap:

PS Forgive me for owning a Pajero....
