Is it just me or does it seem rather hypocritical that after having had Sky tell us MotoGP fans for the last couple of months that they couldn't afford the rights to the seasons coverage, they now come out and tell us that they're going to give us a NEW FULL 24 HOUR sports channel called... wait for it... SKY SPORT 3.
You fuckin' bewdy... more coverage of cheerleading, grid iron, golf, basketball, (yea, I stole that from BRM... sue me :shit: ) , tennis, aussie rules, snooker and the 103rd re-run of the Mike Pero series from Manfield.
And then, get this, they have the kahunas to send me a letter to say I'm going to have to pay an extra $3 per month for the privilage.

snooker
I hope so - they have been slack at showing the Premier league for the last 4 years. They used to show the match of the week every Tuesday at 2130...I really miss that - PS - I am serious!
It is not just Moto GP that they 'can't afford' the rights to

You forgot to mention the world trick dog championships and log rolling. Gotta loves thems sports, uhuhuh.
But seriously this is just a joke. I can't believe how nieve sky is. But I guess there isn't much we can do about it. We could cancel out subscriptions, but then we would miss all of the sports, so we can't win.
Ohh well, maybe they will put it on next year.

Flick an email to: sky@skytv.co.nz Then at least they'll know there's lots of us who are pissed off out there.
Does anyone know how we can actually see how it's going in MotoGP? (In video form).
Marknz, you have hidden talents....that's a very very well penned message to Sky.
Let us know what the response is.
I haven't got my letter about the increase yet. we don't get sky Digital, so we don't get SS2 which means we're lucky to get half the WSB races. I think Sky is absolute crap, only have it for WSB and even then I'm thinking of doing away with it. Paying $50 per month to watch sometimes one, sometimes two rounds is bloody dear entertainment.

Thank you for your email and comments regarding the MotoGP season.
Unfortunately as with any sport, we don't have an unlimited budget. Although we tried to secure the rights, the asking price was just too prohibitive and the suppliers would not negotiate on the cost.
We aware that the races have been very exciting, and that supporters state that this years races are far superior to the Superbikes. However, it was not a choice of choosing one code over another as our contract is still valid for the Superbikes.
SKY has managed to secure delayed rights to the Motorcross GP, we start playing 'catch up' in June.
Television viewing is a very personal and subjective and not all the decisions we make will please all of our customers. But we will try again for the rights next season.

Bike Mart says that there'll be highlights on Shell Helix Motorsport on Sun afternoons. So that's something eh?
Marknz - I got a pretty much identical reply from Sky.
