Well there was a big "debate" at the trackday down at Manfield about how you say Gixxer...

Is it Gixxer: Said with a G as in Garage and Gas etc...

Or is it Gixxer (Jixxer): Said with a G (or J) like Generator or Jail etc...

I bought the 1st model GSXR750F when they came out and a few 1100's after that and right from then, It was Jixxer for the reasons Dover said.

In those days the top of the takas was a sea of white and blue gixxer 750's and a smattering of RG500's.
I prefered my black and Red 750 and are quite envious of Spanks new ride!

I've seen it written many times ("gixxer") and heard a couple of variations of saying it. I found a trans atlantic dissagreement over the correct way of pronouncing it on the web, but nothing here to satisfy my (only mild) curiosity. Never owned one - doubt if I would fit on one anyway..

Given that it is a GSXR, the correct pronounciation would begin with a G, not a J.

and how exactly to you pronounce G? Do you pronounce it as a capital 'G' or a small 'g'... from there, it should be quite obvious

its GSX-AH
jixxer and gixxer is to slang for me. This is a bike that has it base in 86 and roots back into the 70's.
Would you call the Britten a BTN or Brit?
How about the MV August and the Brutal
