View Full Version : Wellington: Wgtn lunch - 6 or 7 July
Velox
27th June 2006, 23:53
I told a couple of KBers that I'd sort a lunch for us CBDers at some stage so here's a plan...
Either Thurs the 6th or Fri the 7th July at 12.30 somewhere near Lambton Quay. I was thinking somewhere like Arizona, Leuven or the Black Harp except they're not that cheap. It's just that they'll have space at lunch time and decent kai and are kind of central LQuay.
Who's keen and any preferences of where or what day???
Mmmm - food.....

I'm keen, but vote for not leuven - too much steamed mussels, not enough pie and chips :)

I'd be a starter perhaps either day 6 or 7 or the following week but generally meet some of the e-riders more often than not on Fridays though that shifts around depending whose in town. I always like Rahzoo (but you gotta go grab the table just before 12 there as they don't normally book), Feathers (going there today), Black Harp (book table there OK), Arizona (don't go there so often), Mr Bun (go there occasionally) so I'm OK with any of the suggestions and agree Leuven not so good.

Count me in. I love the Occidental, but all the other suggestions are almost as good.
Velox
28th June 2006, 17:38
Yeah the Occidental is great but I thought we better grab somewhere more central for people that work further down the south end.
Let's go for Mon the 10th then so that St8 can make it. Is that good for everyone?
At Arizona?

Hey, that's funny, that is the day I booked my bike to get the most expensive service of all space and time.
On the phone to bike shop:
Him: "Balance the carbs AND do the valve shims?!"
Me: "Yes"
Him: "You know we have to fly it to Japan in a crate made out of whale bone and diamonds so a midget with 12 double jointed fingers and 3 arms can work on it?"
Me: "Yes"
Him: "Are you made of money?"
Me: "No; I am made of stupid"
So that means everyone should shout me lunch, out of pity.

I do not make a habit of walking up to a group dressed in corporate, who were chatting away to each other. It looked to me as if it was an office get together. After 30 mins of no sign of any bike gear, I called it a no show.

Yea its hard to look at that photo and say "the good looking" but not mean him. :blip:
Anyway, for those who dont know it thats Wasp er I mean me.
And dont worry Hawkeye, if i was there you'd have spotted us easily - a laptop tech wearing jeans, t-shirt and bike gear kinda stands out amongst suits.
