Hi there,

For those of you into cars as well as bikes:

There is a private track day for cars at Pukekohe Raceway on the 11th of July.

The cost will be $100 per car, numbers are going to be limited to around 40, and there are still places available (about 5-7 places).

The track will be open from 10:00Am to 4:00PM.

If you are interested please PM me ASAP as the organiser is trying to fill the places by the end of this week.

Bump - anyone???

There will be one group for race cars and another group for others - which will be split down again on the day depending on what kind of cars are present.

So you guys will get heaps of track time.

As much as i'd like to take the D around the track, i'd cook the brakes in about 2 laps and the transmission shortly afterwards.

Thats what I don't like about cars, can't really get one that does everything.

Hmm, yes you do but you need to put a little work into it or pay-up and get a M5 or E55 or even a 330i with the M sport pack. On a lower budget there are the Evo's and STi's - 4 doors and a boot and reasonable handling and performance.

A clutch will only be fried in those 4WD's if you dump it at high revs. If you roll on a bit then change hard you will be ok.

Wouldn't mind something with a bit more sporting credentials, possibly Australian with the correct engine configuration / number of cylinders.

Why would you want a heavy tank?? That guzzles fuel and doesn't handle that great - if you want to drive in a sporting manner get a sports car.

Anyway -- lets not start a thread bout cages - and stay on topic - anyone wanting to take their cage on the track on the 11th PM me.
