front sub frame????? eh??? subframes go on the rear....or are you talking about the speedo/clock stay/mount??

are you talking about the speedo/clock stay/mount??And this is why it's called a subframe.... and why the rear subframe is called 'the rear subframe' and not just 'the subframe'.

other term they are called are 'fairing stays' i believe

Fairing stay is the bit that goes from the frame to the top fairing mirror mounts, like on an F series ZX6R, not connected to the clock or headlights. Although, most people would know what you meant.
