Its been pissing down all night.

I'm just out of Hastings, south and theres water everywhere, but mainly in paddocks.
It has been the worst I've seen for some years, water wise everywhere.
Not that cold, or windy tho.
I'm picking Highway 50 will be very wet if you come that way.
They said on the radio this morning if you are in the Takapau area be very carefull.

I'm in Napier - has persisted down all night, still raining at the mo. I haven't heard of any road flooding or slips tho. Watch this space and I will update it for you as I hear anything. What time are you leaving?

Leaving wanganui 8.00am saturday, was told about a weather site which is said to be fairly reliable[farmers use it]which says friday afternoon over there should be clearing for the weekend although it,s always better to get information first hand so to speak.Cheers.

Hi there

As I am involved in the farming industry we have available a pretty good weather report, I have copied the 3 days info for the weekend

(I am due to recieve another report today, so I will post it here)

Sat Clearing and long fine spells
Sun Fine with Norwest winds
Mon Fine with Norwest winds

In regards to the current roads, here is some info you may like to read, it the rain stops it should be ok, but watch for the water coming across the roads, esp on the Napier Taupo highway!

SH2 between Napier and Waipukurau - Surface Water - Care Required
SH2 - Takapau Plains To Napier - Surface Water - Care Required

There are lots of slips on the Napier Taupo highway, so will be slippy!

Cheers

FWIW. This Weather Site: provides preety good forward forecasting.

Can't say they're always right though!!

Blue sky? Are you on drugs or what?

Dont use Valley Rd, in Raukawa people... I had to come home from work coz of floods taking over my property, on Vally rd, i had to drive through a river thats ignoring the bridge and flowing over the road. It was deeper than i expected... now my car has a soaked interior

wouldnt hurt, mine will be in the Ngauroro river by now i think, it shot the gap during the night.

Why do i get all the shit luck?

Bike blows up, Head on in mums car, My car blows headlight, Sams GN crapped out (ive fixed that one), I get 2 puntures in the same day driving the truck... And now a crappy river wants to eat everything i own. Thats just the last 5 weeks!!!!!!!!!

No wonder i drink so much

The bad luck comes in cycles mate - it will pass. In the meantime pack your stuff up high and head for the hills! Just kiding about the boat - Mstrs sold his when he bought the bike...cos "a man shouldn't have too many toys" - now we have to build a huge shed just to accomodate them all...

The sun is shining and blue skies all over here in Hastings at the moment.

Bummer Froggy that sounds severe where you were, not too far from me, all we got down Ngatarawa Rd was a few puddles in my paddocks despite heavy rain all night, but the water drains away real quick here.
