Hi all,
Well after a very lengthy time off from riding (ive gotten rid of the gpx250) and getting a proper job as a designer im now looking at getting back into the game. There are a few 1999 Honda CB600s hanging about at the moment for about $8k and Im just putting the word out to anyone who has owned one or been around them to let me know what they are like. Im after A bike that is more of a sport tourer, that is fun to ride, has enough power to pull me along at 95kg (im sure 600cc will be more than enough) and is nice and easy(ish) to maintain. It also needs to be able to take pillions quite comfortably. So am I on the right track? That reminds me.. I Must book for my full licence...
Cheers,
Graeme

CB600 Hornet? Could just buy a CB900 Hornet for a little over $10900...or secondhand CB900 for around $8k. I understand they are a much better bike (maybe) and more contemporary in terms of parts etc...
They dont bite unless you want them to.

Not sure if this is going to help you at all. But after a spell of 10 years without a bike. Last one being a CBR1000 preceeded by a CBR600. I have just got back onto 2 wheels. (Traffic and fuel costs!!)

Last week I managed to pick up a 02 Thunderace YZF100RN for $9000 (from Energy Honda New Plymouth). It has a genuine 9000kms on the clock. Still had the original tyres although replaced with the purchace. It might as well have been in a crate because its brand new still...

Awesome 2 up and easy to cruise around town or open road. It puts my last two honda's to shame....loving being back on 2 wheels again....

And here is a second hand 900 you could go take a look at.

Trade me CB900 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-61660190.htm)

Totally agree with skelstar, for about the same money you can have a much better bike that is far more common in NZ.

Last week I managed to pick up a 02 Thunderace YZF100RN ..

I looked at one of those the same day i bought the Triumph, i had a Thundercat, was happy with it and thought the T/Ace would be the go, but the Triumph won me over, i have seen the Thunderace in black/silver colours, looks dam fine....cool bikes...
