I have just removed the tank from the VFR to have work done on it, and in the process of draining the tank, noticed that there was something inside...

After a bit of looking and shaking, it appeared to be a rag!!!:shit:

I managed to get the bugger out with a long metal rod, and the damn thing is about 300mm long of mutton cloth!:thud:

Would this do any damage being inside the tank?
The fuel filter appears clear of anything though.

Yeah, didn't this happen to someone else a little while back?
Everyone thought it was a piss take...

Unfortunately this is not a pisstake.
I sent the offending rag off with the tank, so am guessing I won't get it returned.
I did think of taking a photo at the time, but you know how engrossed you get in doing something...

Edit: will post a photo when I get the tank back.

Sounds similar to what this guy pulled out of his tank

OK, here's the piccie!

I have just got it back from the bike shop, so the whiteness inside the tank is from the new interior coating to seal up the leaks... <--- note plural and not singular...

The rag on top of the tank is a piece of the same material and the same size, that I cut off a roll to show you guys how big it was. About 250mm long, so I'm guessing it was used to block the filler hole while something was being done. Why would anyone put that in there deliberately?
