Sunday 20 August

The fourth RideSafe 350 mile event.
The route is given on the day.

The RideSafe 350 is a fundraising event held on an infrequent basis to raise funds and support the RideSafe Motorcycle School.

This years event is to raise funds for equipment ( Helmets and riding gear replacement).
This event is organised by the 2 newest members of the Rusty Nuts M/C .

The start and finish will be in Auckland

It is an all day ride 350 mile/ 600kms - there is a set route to follow, route sheets issued on the day - Lunch is provided (approx half way) and there is a BBQ at the end of the run.

It is non competitive. It is a badge run.

A good chance to get some riding in for those attending the RNMC Grand Challenge in October.

If you have ever wanted to attempt a long distance event - this is a good introduction - new riders, smalller bikes, scooter are all welcome - if you think you can do it - you can.

We have a designated rain day on the following Sunday 27th August.
Note it will only be postponed if weather is really bad.

Phone 09 4165866 or email rustyinfo@rustynuts.co.nz for entry form. or PM me with your email address.
Entry fee $35.00 includes lunch, badge, and after run BBQ.

We have had some spot prizes donated by Blue Wing Honda and Suzuki NZ for riders on the 4th RideSafe 350.

Both these companies supported the earlier RideSafe 350 runs - nice to see they still supports us.

Preentries are coming in steadily and all entrants so far have been posted info (if you have not got it yet it is in the mail)

Riiders are coming from as far afield as New Plymouth (so far anway).

Entries will be accepted on the day.

Lunch will be provided near midway on the ride. As with past 350 rides - we provide the makings and you make your own filled rolls, no complaints then that you dont like cheese or lettuce or whatever.

There is a badge being made, prentrants will be assured of getting theirs on the day, on the day entries may have to wait to get one mailed out if we run out.

If you get lost, tired , or just can't be bothered anymore you can return to the finsh at any time during the day.

Remeber this is a 350 MILE event. (600km)

Good to see a few small bikes giving this a go as well. Good on you.

Thanks to our sponsers - Motohaus tyres, Blue Wing Honda, Suzuki NZ,

anyone one else who would like to join them just contact me,

Hope to see you there on the day - RideSafe one and all

Is that 350 mile each way, or 350 mile round trip? ie does 350 mile get you back more or less to where you started, or after the 350 mile do you have to ride another 350 mile that day to get home?

And are there gravel roads on this or is it sprotsbike stuff ?

it is a 350 mile ride from go to whoa.
Only gravel you will strike is if there is any roadworks.
But there are plenty of back roads you probably dont know about and will not have ridden before.

it is ot just sport bike stuff - it is for anyone who wants a go - previous runs have had a few 250s and smaller, and scooters.

Can be done as a group ride if you want to go with your mates.

Talking to Kerry today - Motohaus will open around 8am

Kerry has put up a new helmet to either raffle or auction on the day - Nice one
Also for the day and only for those on the ride he will give a special RUSTY NUTS discount of 15% on all the stuff in his shop.
If you are going on the ride it might be a good time to replace some gear etc - if you were not plannning on going - its a good reason to consider it.

Support those who support our sport, Blue Wing Honda and Suzuki NZ have both donated some spot prizes for those taking part.

No word yet from Yamaha, BMW and Kawasaki yet altho Kawasaki have supported this run in the past.

The course is challenging - the weather people say it will be fine , so get out and enjoy.

Hey Lee,

How are you guys on late entries (on the day like)?

Lee Rusty
19th August 2006, 22:50
on the day is ok to entry but dont be too late or you wont be able to get around course.

as to group riding mentioned above - not on these roads - narrow - unmarked,
not the place to play in groups - ride your own ride - you wil see your mates at lunch time.
this is not a fast course -
