I'll be there, probably on my KTM but might take the RM as well if I find the time to rebuild the forks this week.

Its a no pressure day of Moto X. Unfortunatley the races are only about 10mins long, not like back in the day where we used to ride for 25-30mins + two laps and vomit once we crossed the finish line. No bush, grass with a sand base. Cool berms that you can hit hard and gas it full throttle to the next corner. No big jumps unless you hit the table top too fast then its a long way to the gully on the other side.
Practice for a few laps then 3x races and the classes are usually ability (Novice, Clubmen, Expert) then age group, then capacity so you get to race against different people each race. Its a good concept but I wish the races were longer. The start is done with a flag.
Then there is a feature of about 20minutes and all can ride if they wish. The only pain in the feature which should be the best race of the day is that they start pulling down the tape before the race is run and all the ratbags and juniors that are slower than you cut the track and if your trying to have a good race with someone you get all these bunnies cutting in front of you and holding you up.
Greg, if your reading this please don't pull the tape until after the race is finished. I was having a good race with my mate on his KTM525SX when this junior on an 80cc screams across the course cutting out a large section of the course and right across my line and if I had kept it pinned I would have T boned him. Next time I might just do that. The point is I lost my momentum then he held me up for a few tight corners by which time my mate was well and truelly gone. The final race is the highlight for us because of the length of the race but it is ruined by the fact that there are no longer boundarys to the course.
Rant over, but come along and don't be intimidated. Its a fun track and a fun day. No race liecense needed, entrys on the day. Be there by 8.30-9.00.

yer its so much fun, and its not hard out as well which suits me because im still just starting to race,:chase: after 4 laps of the track im nackered need to go back to the vehicle and have a sleep, :zzzz: which is good because the races are only about four laps long as stated above.

If you've never raced before, once the flag drops, the nerves stop. Honestly the most nerve wracking part can be waiting for your race. Once under way its just riding with a bunch of people. Don't put any pressure on yourself and start behind everyone else in your first race and you will be surprised when you pass someone who is slower than you. You will have a blast.

just as above the nerves are pretty bad before the race, but you find out that everone is in the same bag, and if you go into the novice class their is aways somebody going slow, and for heaps of people it is the first time on a track, ive only been their twice before and i now i cant stop going.:niceone:

My arms arn't to bad but i was dead buy the time it came to the points race, so i had a poor placing:slap:
Having to much fun and forgot to conserve myself for when it counted.
My sister took the photos, and she only turn up just be for the feature race so she missed the whole day:doh:
What were you riding Danger? I was on one of the many CR125's and in the B group, 26 and under of the points.

I was in the B group too. Rode my KTM200EXC. Missed all of practice so used the first race as my practice and started at the rear. Got 6th, 5th, 4th in the points race (40+) and not sure of the last race, within the top 6 again I think. Didn't realise they were having the feature because during the last B race they were pulling up the tape and by the time I realised they were having a feature I was already packed up! Would have liked to have done the last race too!
The second race was probably my best race, got into the first corner in 3rd and pressed for second until near the end of the race when number 36 on a Kwaker and I was banging bars for a few corners and then Craig Brown got by. In the last race my right hand came completley off the bars but I saved it. I broke both my hands last year in seperate crashes and so have very poor hand strength/grip. Didn't feel all that comfortable and didn't ride that well. Still my endurance was better than when I last raced here a few months back. Thought the track was a bit boring tho. It was better when it was run the other way around.
It was nice to have the quick fire races due to the low turnout and an early finish to the day.
My arms feel good now. Overall a great day I thought. Thanks Greg Power.
