Ha,I can't seem to repost my pics either,so I resized it.Nicky Hayden didn't learn to back it in like that on motards,he leaned his art on something much faster - flattrack! The leathers say Nicky,but someone says it's brother Andy inside them.Let's say it's Nicky Hayden on an RS750 - backing it in at 140 mph on a bike like this makes backing it in on a little motard bike at 140kph seem like childs play.Skills few of us possess.

I posted that photo previously in a thread where I was showing how a motard doesn't load the front wheel on corner entry,compared to how much a flattracker does.With no front brake,Nicky has fully compressed the forks.Look at his right arm - throttle shut...and he has to get it on soon,this is the critical point - he'll lose the front if he doesn't get on the gas.

higher speeds and engine braking cause this or is it more technique?

Both,but also a flattracker is deep in the turn with that much load on the front end,the photos you see of them sideways is corner exit.But notice all those super action motard shots are corner entry - they are actualy going in a straight line,not cornering.Watch Briggs backing it in at the end of the straight at Paeroa,looks good,but he's going in a straight line.Ok,so they get sideways into the turns too,and out of them - but generaly they back it in,the flattracker two wheel drifts in.
