I was looking through www.sellmefree.co.nz and came across a 2003 GSXR600, I would post the link but the listing has expired or been removed.
Anyway it caught my eye partially because it looked like some one had thrown up there rainbow breakfast all over it. It was a Purpel/yellow/white ltd edition (thank God for that) replica of somthing. The other reason it caught my eye was because it was for sale for $2300, so i though it must be a misprint. I emailed the guy and asked how much he wanted. my email follows:

Hi, I saw your K3 600 for sale on sellmefree. The price says $2,300. I can't see that being correct, but how much are you looking to sell your bike for please?

This was his reply:

2500NZD is the price.
Thanks

who says 2500NZD anyway, what else i am going to use, Dragon foreskin??
so i started to get a little suspitious, so i looked at where he was located, it said Wellington, the phone number was 06 856-56667. I though that was a little strange as Wellington has an 04 code. so i sent him this email:

Hi, I am very interested in the bike. I am willing to transfere the cash but first i would like to have some one view the bike if thats ok? I live in auckland but have a friend in Wellington who can view it for me. When would be a good time for them to view the bike please?

his reply, and this is a corker, i still don't understand what he is saying:

As I have told you the Moto is localised in London, United Kingdom and it have the registration United Kingdom. I live in the USA, the moto belongs to my brother who lived in London, United Kingdom. It died in an accident of Moto. Like it be not marrie and no family in London, United Kingdom, I ocupee of the funeral I went back myself to the USA and because I cannot take all his things in America with me I want to sell them, (car, motor bike, house, etc). I want to sell it and I can same arrange the delivery in any country of EU, of Asian or European countries of are or in the United States (did not mnais in Africa because of swindles which this pase… has ivory dimension.). I think that the best way will be to meet us in London, United Kingdom to make the deal, but I want to be sure that you are a purchaser serioux because last week a person of Germany said that he wants to buy the moto, I said well that we will meet in London, United Kingdom and we will make this deal. After I arrived at London, United Kingdom and I did not find the purchaser over there and it never answers my e-mail, that was blaque stupid, I lost 1000$ for nothing. I can come in London, United Kingdom for you, but as a guarantee that you are a true purchaser and you have money (in liquid) for the moto I required that you arrange a deposit paid on your name. After, for your guarantee, I will send the documents of the moto to you. With regard to the deposit, there is a service very fast and easy to use, this name of service is Western Union, it is a service which you can send money 190 countries and you will find in Poste.Allwhat you must make is to go to nearest Poste in your city with a friend or your wife… and your friend by example will send the money in London, United Kingdom at your name like beneficiar in London, United Kingdom, your wife or your friend will be the shipper. I say that you do this because I want to be 100% sure that you will be in London, United Kingdom because once the money is sent you must be in London, United Kingdom and take the money! ! After the transfer is made I will want that you sent to me a scan of receipt of transfaire by Western and I can check with an agency of W.U in London, United Kingdom to be confirmed! ! After I check and all is well us let us can meet in London, United Kingdom to conclude the business. Thank you tell me if you agree because I want sell it quickli.

obviously dodgy as fuck, my final email follows:

You Fucktard! Why the fuck would you advertise on a New Zealand web site and say that your location is Wellington? Wellington is the Capital of NZ, if your not even in the country, why bother advertising a bike here.
Also why would I want to spend $2000 to fly to London to talk to you about a bike, then have to arrange for it to come back to NEW ZEALAND WHERE YOU ADVERTISED IT FOR SALE at the cost of around $4000, I may as well go and buy a brand new Suzuki, at least that way I could buy one that doesn't look like someone has puked all over it.
You are obviously some dodgy slant eye since my cat can string a more coherent English sentence than you can. Stop trying to con people you sad pathetic fuck.
And no, you didn't tell me the Moto (what ever the fuck that is) was located in London, else I would have told you to go fuck your self yesterday. Your a time waster and the web site has been notified, you will be unable to advertise anything on any NEW ZEALAND web site again.
If you have a problem with this, I will be in London in 6 months time, perhaps we can meet then to discus any issues you might have.

Good on ya Postie, you dealt with that dodgy bastard. Hard to believe that they think they can get some sucker to to fall into this trap - hardly a refined and polished operation is it? Must be some real Dumbarse's out there!

This seams to be happening more and more on the internet. Just one more good reason why we should all go check a bike out before we hand over any $$$.

That phone number (and any variation cos it's got too many digits) doesn't exist in this country. Ring them, they're all disconnected.

If you wanted to pull his string, tell him your brother who is an FBI agent is in London at the moment working on an international car theft ring and he would be more than happy to check the bike over.

bloody scammers!! top marks for reporting him/her so they find it harder to try it again.
While I can understand why You would be annoyed at them... I can't support the 'slant-eye' comment, some of our own top kb brothers are of asian descent. See it works like this... You reap what You sow.

You will respond in justice for your words.
Thanks
See you at lower.

i think that may be a story bro? at which point did i ask for his life story? I asked if i could see the bike, then i am told that the bike is in London, he is in the USA so no, i can't see the bike. I don't believe anything in the email other then he wants money for nothing and his cheques for free.

If the story were true, and you were in his situation, wouldn't you simply say, the bike is not in NZ, its in London and due to family issues it would be difficult to continue with any transaction at this time, sorry.

yeah.... err, I think I already burnt my bridges with this guy. I do have mates in London who would go have a look for me today, well tonight here, but I don't believe he even owns a dictionary, let alone and K3 600

I agree with Frosty. String him out and have some fun.
Don't forget to sign up his email address with one of the alien abduction forums. When he starts getting the "anal probe" surveys, it should occupy even more of his time.

Unfortunately people like him go to a lot of trouble to make these stories up because they are somewhat successful at it. Even if 1 out of 10,000 prospective buyers reads that ad and pays up, the conman makes a huge profit...until he gets caught.
