Howdy.. Surfing the TT forums (been a while) I notice that they are discussing the offical recall of 2006 YZ250F's in the US and Austalia due to issues with their intake valves.

Does anyone know if this applies to NZ models?
If so, does it apply to 2006 WR250F's?

Cheers

Yes it's a world wide recall. Cary had his done a week or so ago. Good on yamaha for admitting there was a problem and correcting it. Not like honda and kawasaki who blamed their valve problems on poor maintenance.

Its true, had ma bike in there for while whilst they sort out the problem, apparently the problem was something to do with the valves prematurely wearing.

THE OFFICIAL STORY- In NZ it is a number of bikes in a Frame# range- call your yamaha dealer- its not "all " bikes here but it is most of them. The problem is fatigue on some inlet valves-and replacement valves used to date -only on 06 yz250f's- no other bikes. If your bike is affected, or youre worried, call. the replacement job is totally free. There is no damage done -unless the rare few dodgy valves let go...so best be safe. Weve had total support from yamaha on this-
