Yep we're long overdue for another KB BBQ, it'll be the first one for this year if I'm correct.

Like KK says bring your own meat/drinks - I'm only a poor student!!

Also for those who wish to crash here for the night let me know by PM or whatever. Unfortunately we don't have any spare beds but plenty of floor space, so make sure you bring a sleeping bag.

Address by PM or by txt 0211062704.

So come on make this one bigger than previous KB BBQ's!

I've just re-checked. I'm on 7am to 3pm Sat & Sun. I'll try & swap the Sunday for an afternoon shift, and then I'll be able to come up.

Now. Are you lads going to sort out some salads & bread & stuff to go with all the meat that everyone's bringing? Have you got a BBQ? What about a garage we can congregate in instead of tracking through the house?

How about having the BBQ in the 4th of July and that way we all can hoon around the Pukekohe open day on the 3rd?

Kwaka-Kid
2nd June 2004, 21:23
K guys to answer all your Q's briefly... well the most important - TIME?! ANY TIME AFTER LUNCH! beware youll be helping out though.. so really how aobut a 6pmish kickoff time we expect to start firing the BBQ? and if andrew dont got one, i do - aswell as a van to take stuff etc, i havnt talked to andrew much but the only thing im concerned about is seats/under cover area for us all to drink and muck about in? (never been to andrews). Should be good, and Sorry Slim i FORGOT completely about salads etc, could the ladies or men with talent when it comes to the rabbit food please help us little KB'ers out? (me and andrew are trying out hardest here! but we are not the most experienced at this whole big organisation thing-last 2 times slim and mitch organised everything and i just tried to take the fame and glory!)
So lets get it together, suggestions are more then welcome.
No i think the 3rd is fine, come after the practise day when your worn out and due for a big feed and some beer!. (just make sure you bring it yourself, add my age and andrews age together and youll prolly get the amount of dollars in each of our bank accounts).
cheers guys!

Geez your rich, half my age and thats how much my account is in overdraft  lolLuxuries (done MP fashion), my overdraft is bigger than the cc rating of my bike, my Visa debit is more then 100x my age, then there's the bike loan:innocent:  and we will not even want to think about the student loan:finger:

Guess we all own bikes, hey:crazy:

But you tell the "can" folks these days that, and they wouldn't believe ya (Sorry more MP)
Couldn't resist. Have had too many "can" owners come up to me and saying that the bike would be cheaper to run:stupid: My usual reply is "well you obviously have never owned a bike":finger:

Sleep late on Sunday, ride back Sunday afternoon.

Hate to be a killjoy to some but sorry, minor issue being its not the sortof thing i want to be a part of, and far more importantly for your own records is that with the wide range of Occupations us KB'ers cover it would not surprise me if there is a lawman at the BBQ.

I'm planning to. In fact I'd hand written it on the July roster I gave him on the weekend & he asked what "KB BBQ" meant. I told him you & a load of the Wellington peeps were planning to be there so our presence was expected.

So no physical punishment should be required, thank you! :bleh:

Being the hard working Council Officer I am, I will utilise my flexi time and take half day Friday (at least) so I can get myself and the bikes ready, but depending on Cycosis's plans, would like to travel up in convoy with the rest.

Any news on some suitable ex-race tyres ? :ride: 180 or 190/17 for me and 180/17 for Cycosis. I think 50 or 55 profiles would be ok for either bike. (never noticed a difference between them before).

FF, your pretty fast yourself but when you ride with someone practicing for racing, being left behind by a small margin is just normal.

Hey guys. Finally got home from work etc, and heres what i thought of. All is going to be good and i will contribute some bags of chips, 20+++ suasages (depends on what deal the mad butcher is doing) and some steaks. aswell as 2 dozen or so Lion Red - only planning on drinking half a dozen this time so the rest are for the poor students out there! (thats you antallica!) or just anybody. Other then that ill be bringing 2 bed rolls and 2x foam matresses for the floor of andrews place, we can happily jam like 20 odd people on carpeted floor space in living rooms etc around andrews. Space for about 10bikes to be garaged and locked for those staying over night and around 10 right outside the garage, others on the neighbors drive and cars on the road!. Just as an idea hes only 1minute from the Onewa Offramp over the north shore, just PM me or andrew as ive already said and we can give adress, otherwise text me on 021 1655 668, or andrew if he posts his number (sorry i cant check msgs constantly, loaning dad fone for a bit). What we need from you people? Some Rabbit food please(not too much!) Maybe a little bit of meat from a few of you, if someone did a potato salad or something kool it would be great! maybe a pasta bowl type thing (BigDogs wife?-that was nice last time!) And just whatever alcohol you want to drink during the night- we have a Bath full of Ice to fill! Lastly if someone had one of those outdoor LPG heaters and lived close it would be a neat idea- but not fully needed. There is definatly room under shelter should it rain etc for everone.

The only thing i ask is that we all respect andrews place as we do need to walk through the house to get from place to place (split level Decks) and we park our bikes out front/in garage then take off our boots and id recommend just staying in socks etc as we can then keep walking out to the deck and back inside etc.
This is going to work guys provided we all do our best to be good bikers(within reason) and im hoping to make it to the Pukekohe open day that day aswell as shoot off to andrews after and setup etc. We have a BBQ btw so dont worry about that, and Chef of the night will be HO-Hoon with andrew/Brother as our DJ/techie boys. We will have a DVD/PC/Sounds Setup running with a TV inside facing out a window so we can just chill and watch a bike vid or few.

I think ive said all i want to, cheers guys.

Just been on the phone to KK. The BBQ is going ahead for sure and with any luck there should be a good turn out.
Remember those who are staying over, bring all your sleeping gear!
Anyone who could supply any seating is a legend.
It's my ol' Lady's house so I would appreciate if you guys could take off your boots before coming in the house - Thnx.
Things should start to get going around 6pm onward.
Those coming in a cage would be cool if you could park on the street, that way all the bikes can get in the driveway/nearby.
Incase anyone wants to get hold of me, my cell phone number is 0211062704.
Other than that have fun and hope to see you all there. :scooter:

Awesome night andrew.

Whats the guestimate on numbers? I was slow on the count and counted after some had left (and of course they were in and out etc so prolly never all there at once) but i got 30, reckon we prolly had 40 odd KBers/people!

was great to put even more faces to names but i swear i wont remember untill the 2nd time we meet, always have that problem.

Anyways great time, GREAT FOOD(i must admit that Craig did an awesome effort on that BBQ and for a man poor and unfortunate enough to have to race a GSXR, you wouldnt think he could afford a BBQ let alone how to use one, but no he sure did a top notch effort to match the mark set my Hoon/Big Dog at the last BBQ). And of course great people!
Just like to say thanks to andrew and his mother for letting us use the house for the night! and for the Wellingtonian KB'ers for coming so far to meet us (dont think any of us aucklanders would be silly enough to return the favour, pah, wellingtonians...) :p all good!

Next time try to turn on some better weather, though - the ride home was a bit rough in the wind and rain... But a small price to pay for such a pleasant evening.

Yeah thanks for a great venue Andrew and ta KK and HoHoon for feeding those of us starving and turning up late. Great night and chance to catch up with some of you I met before and not met before. Even if I couldnt keep up on the technical bike stuff the videos were hilarious.

BTW MR still wondering how you manage to throw stones at bikes behind you while going soooo fast. Your theory didnt quite stack up <_<

Well, you see. I don't like people trying to go faster than me, so I have cleverly modified my bike with a stone shooter that is located just underneath the pillion seat. When people try to get cheaky and try to overtake me, I fire away :2guns: to make them back right off, leading everyone into beliveing that I am fast.

Anywho, what was Frosty doing trying to keepup with me when the SV is still being run in? :Pokey:

The fairing stone took a small chunk out of the paintshield and the paint underneath so you got me real good - "thankfully" I binned it approx 10mins later and as a result am getting a whole brand new head fairing thru insurance!

Gotta watch you mate, seems like you will do anything to prevent others passing you!! :Punk:

The BBQ was a hoot. I was a little anxious that my organising wouldn't have been up to scratch. Luckily I had the help from KK and Slim to help make thigs go smootly. Thanks guys you rock!

Also thanks to all the people who came it was a good turn out.

I'd just like to apologise on behalf of my mother to anyone who felt they were being interrogated when they arrived. It was actually an attempt by me to get her boozing just after lunch so that she wouldn't be too bewildered by all these bikers coming round. I had only told her about the BBQ a few days in advance, so rather than get her use to the idea, just get her drunk!!
 Anyways I was just talking to her this afternoon and she really enjoyed herself!

Everybody had a good time and I was happy just to see all those bikes parked in the garage. :)

We had a top night. What a great place for a BBQ too, with the lower deck being half covered to hide the BBQ & food under & for us smokers to retreat to for our "fix". Despite Craig's telling me that he's no good at cooking steaks in the past, he did good on the BBQ and it seemed like we were cooking meat forever! And all the food got eaten too. :D He was absolutely convinced someone else was drinking his Monteith Blacks too ... simply because he was still standing (although not speaking very clearly) at the end of the evening. 12 beers over 8 hours and with some food is a good spread though. :apint:

Note to sausage lovers - buy pre-cooked ones so they don't have to stay on the BBQ so long that the outside gets excessively charred!

Thanks to Andrew's mum, who definitely seemed to relax more as the evening went on. Nothing to do with the Heiny's supplied by Andrew of course! ;)

Thanks to KY & co for setting up the computers and sounds - good job lads.

Ta all for a good evening, just what the doctor ordered.

As has been pointed out now that we have had 3 winter bbq's how about one that is not in the dead of winter and not in the middle of a storm.

Harbour bridge was nothing to write home about on the way there, but on the way home ..... exciting!

69 to be precise atm Big Dog - but ill take the other 9 KG you forgot about.

and yes we will have another in not such a far away time - my place next time possibly to help rotate it around - and it saves on money to buy so many heinies get Andrews mum drunk :P All i have to do is tie one lion red in the spare room on a string and hang it 6 feet from the ground, watch the short man jump up and down all day in frustration trying to get it! (never has realised getting up onto the bed gives him the extra 3 feet he needs...) So we can be sorted!
Just tell me when summer is someone, as i dont know those month things with different weather.

And why would i be afraid of him getting that GS1000 or 750 going? id be bloody happy! MY REAR TYRES WOULD NOT HAVE BALD PATCHES DOWN THE MIDDLE!, so who was paying for that back tyre again? :(

I as I said at the BBQ, I have one that was for my 1991 VFR750 if it any good to you (Free to a good home). I have 2 side fairings as well for the same bike (bit rough but could be fixed with some plastic welding). I'll give those away as well to a KB'er with a VFR.
Awesome party Andrew (I'm just surfacing from it now:doh: ).
Who forgot to tell my that the Sunday ride (Hoon:Pokey: ) was supposed to be a slow one:msn-wink: Shit I was wandering why I keeped ending up towards the front:Oops: Fu*ken enjoyed it but:Punk:Although I was not to happy with the oncoming Beemer waving us down like mad. Nearly caused me to ditch as the 2 bikes in font of me braked hard over the pea-metal, which must have been what he was waving us for (the way his hand was going I thought there had been an accident). At least it was on a straight with no oncoming traffic and I was able to go for the oncoming lane and ease back over the pea-metal (otherwise it would have been 1: cut through the 2 bikes in front who had braked hard or 2: over-brake on the pea-metal bring the bike down). Personally guys I'd rather of glided through the the Pea-metal (it's too late the brake once your on it).
