Right... well I like to watch scary horror type movies, as I prefer to watch something that could possibly be true instead of crap that has no chance of ever being real (like.... cartoons... talking animals... spaceships...)

A mate of mine recommended watching "Wolf Creek".

Now how many of you have seen Wolf Creek?

If you havn't seen it... and want to see it... stop reading now!

~~

At the start of the movie they say "Based on True Events". Me thinks "cool".

Based on 3 people (2 chicks and guy) travelling through Aussie's outback looking at tourist crap. The two chicks being tourists the guy being a local to Aussie.

After a longggggggg drawn out start (like half the bloody movie) the car breaks down (typical) and some outback freak offers to fix their car...

That night said freak is fixing the car and the three travellers go to sleep.

Next day brown haired chick wakes up, tied up and locked in a shed. She stays there for a whole day before she trys to escape (smart ain't she). She escapes and starts with the "hero" shit and goes looking for her friend and the guy. She find the blond chick being tortured by the freaky outback guy, so she shoots the freak (takes about 20 minutes for that to happen though), freak is laying on ground, brown haired chick free's blond haired chick and steals the guys truck and drive away, he didn't die (surprise!) and chases them... doesn't find them... returns to his shithole home. Blond chick stays hidden in bush and brown hair chick returns to freaks home to find the guy.

Freak kills the brown haired chick, then kills the blonde chick.

During all this time the Aussie traveller, is tied up in a different shed away from the main building where the torture and murder happens. He (now on the third day) decides to escape... and he does... doesn't bother looking the chicks or even checking if they are alive and runs away (he certainly ain't that big a man then aye!).

He gets found by other tourists travelling through the outback...

At the end they say, no bodies were found, investigation was called off... Aussie guy still lives in Aussie somewhere... end of story...

~~

Ok so if this is based on a true story... and the guy is the only survivor... and he spent the whole time locked up in a different location to the two girls... how does he know that they were being tortured, how does he know they set a car on fire, they shot the bad guy, they stole his truck, they pushed it off a cliff, they hid in the bush, they came back to his camp, they got tortured some more, they died, bad guy shot the blonde girl with a high powered rifle with a zoom lense... he also shot an old man trying to help the blonde girl... on a road miles away from the location she ran away from... bad guy sets old mans car on fire...

How the fuck does he know all that? :nono: What a load of crap... very disapointing.

My rating of the movie... 00.01/10

i thought the same thing PF!
so i researched it. it turns out the only true part of the movie is the fact that some tourists went missing in the aussie wop wops a few years ago.
Even Wolf Creek doesnt exist where they say in the movie. its actually called Wolfe Creek on the other side of oz lol

read the 'Basis in Reality' section

barring that... kinda twisted movie! haha

Probably was based on true events.....

They just didn't all happen at the same time or place or maybe it was written by Mr Johnathon Tru Events...?

Yeah I saw it too, and like you saw the based on true event blurb and the stuff at the end made it out like it was true. So I watched the making of section and discovered that it was written by the dude who directed it or something. So really it was a load of bullocks! Anyway, I thought it wasn't too bad for a crappy, made up, horror flick.

Yeah other than the "based on true events" bit the movie wasn't too bad... a bit predictable...

I mean really... your friend is tied to a pole being tortured, with the remains of a previous victim hanging on the wall, would you seriously just shoot the guy and run? I'd be bashing the bastards head in with the rifle butt... then I'm sure he's dead I'd still tie him up... or set him on fire... lol It was also a bit slow to start with, took forever to get to the good bits and they didn't last very long...

lol

Seriously though, its the "dumb woman" attitude of "he's not talking so we're ok" that ends up getting them killed... don't they watch horror movies, the bad guy never dies easy... so make sure the bastards well dead before you try to run away... no way the cops will do you for murder if they see all the dead bodies laying around...

Edit: In the words of Korn... "dead bodies everywhere...."

Oh I know!!! I sat there thinking the same thing, Beat that guy till you know he's dead, geeze, some people, you'd think they'd never seen another horror movie before! He is not Terry from McLeods Daughters, he's a murderer, dim wit! LOL.

lol exactly... Sam's dad was like "oh thats the guy from mcleods daughters, he's a nice guy" haha... yeah right!

I'm also assuming that because he did that to her, she ended up telling him where the blonde chick was... but really... if you knew you were paralised and would more than likley die even if you did tell him, wouldn't you just shut up... its not like he could hurt you anymore, you can't feel anything... so rather shut up and die quietly, knowing that there is now a bigger chance that your friend will survive... and the bad guy will get caught...

I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10. I saw it on Saturday. Fantastic camera work and art direction. A neat story to boot.

Although based on a true stroy the director/writer producer (all the same guy) did a decent job of filling in the blanks. And if you read the credits it gives the story yet another twist.

Did he? Didn't he?

Whenever a film says 'based upon' - I always assume it's 99.9% BS.

Sorry to disagree, but it went down well at the Biffs.
