On the way home tonight down the Hutt Motorway, had the pleasure of a laneplitting duel with a chap on a blue SV1000 rego SV1K.

If you're reading this, SV1K, cheers

You made my day...

So... who won? Did you reel him in and toy with his sorry, pansy, risk-averse arse, or were his filtering skills too legendary for you to run with?

I saw him a few weeks ago at teh s/market with his arm in plaster (not bike related!) so he's obviously mended - good. a nice bloke, but I agree with wkid_one, I don't think he's a kb'er.

He whistled past me like I was standing still yesterday morning. Very "Jrandom" in his approach I think :)

Neck and neck from Ngauranga through to Korokoro, where he pounced and got through. From there I was about a car length behind him. We met up at the Maungaraki lights where he beat me on takeoff acceleration and led until Melling lights where he had to turn off.

He's good at making progress though. It was a good challenge. :)

I was wondering we he was, haven't seen him out in a while. He used to be fairly regular on the Rimutaka hill with his partner on the back. Both really nice people.

I had a similar bout of fun yesterday riding in from Pakuranga into the Auckland CBD. A new record for me in traffic, 17 minutes (12 minutes is my best in early morning) with about 2/3 of that playing through the cars with this guy! Cheers to the dude on the Triiumph sprint - very entertaining. (for the record, he got 50m ahead of me by the time I made it to my off ramp at Wellesley Street but I did stop splitting to say gidday before that)
Its fun to meet equally nutty commuters! Although I keep wondering when the bloke on the FXR (47URS or something?) is going to join in my shenanigans one of these days when I zip past.

Sounds suspiciously similar to *my* rego, that does. But I commute in the opposite direction on the NW motorway, so it can't be me. In any case, if it *was* me, you wouldn't be 'zipping past' so much as 'getting the hell outta the way'. :buggerd:

I don't get to duel anyone during my commute - every bike I go past on the Northern is sitting in traffic like their bike has 4 wheels.
