As above a few more bits and pieces...Preload adjusters, coerce style sprocket cover and a Tri-Metal rear sprocket which is supposed to last 3 times longer as it has an aluminum core with steel teeth which in theroy is better than aluminum teeth and lighter than all steel..who knows we shall see eh....

Its called a Tri-metal....if you do a web search for supersprox you should find something....i got this off an outfit in England try www.apexleisure.co.uk they were expensive but if it lasts longer it balances it out a bit...bought it for something different really

Well, next 4 days off work, so i figure ill try taking the steering damper off and see how it goes (has ohlins on the back). Anyone tried?

Yep, very light, esp riding hard. Wouldn't recommend mono's without damper, and if you do, ensure front wheel straight as a die dude........or it'll be tank slapper time.......

Oh, mm, true. Just run 2.5 oil in the damper then? Best of both worlds?

Would probably be a plan. They had the rep for being a little flighty early on in their careers, I'm not sure why you'd want to go down a path that was known to be flawed?

It seems most people believe the handling problems were related to the shoddy rear damper locking up. From what ive read, having the ohlins damper solves a lot of problems, appart from the slapping you would get coming down from a wheelie i guess, as featus mentions. Correct me if ive come to the wrong conclusion?

Seems reasonably sound, seems like cheap insurance though seeing as you have one :D But you're a good law abiding rider, you wouldn't be doing high speed crossed up wheelies now would ya :D

Nup, still getting the confidence in even going around corners, and after riding a fully kitted out bmw 1150 the other day, i realised just how badly mine goes around corners.
Try to counter steer and the bike just moves a lil bit. It really seems to be the damper holding it back as there is no way i could do slow riding around cones on it, thats for sure

Well, start with your tyre pressures... it'll always (no matter how much $$$ spent on suspension) handle like a truck if they're up the ghey. Maybe one of the welly crew knows how to set TLs up correctly?

Hi Brent, hope you are enjoying the Capital:sunny:
I did the 2.5wt in the damper. Very easy mod to do and lightens up the front a lot. Still lots of control. Well worth doing.:yes:
Sort that bike mate:nya::sunny:

Hey Man, yep, im here in the Capital. Feels like ive spent more time out town due to the huge amount of training i need to become a quality employee :first:
The bike is going well and will get a couple of trips in the next few days as I have 4 off. I will try the bike on local roads without the damper while im putting 2.5 oil in it.
Are you going to the cold kiwi?

Damper off over the rimutukas, bloody nice! I was sure i couldnt ride before, but now I realise it was just because of the damper!
It was a little twitchy over bumps when cornering, but i guess thats to be expected. What else can i say, other than great fun!

The reason i tried it is because a chap in masterton said he had never had one on his bike and never had any problems. If i hadnt of heard that I would not have tried it. :scooter:
