I went down to Elvington outside of York (UK) to a Straightliners event. The competition had bikes going for top-speed runs, plus the Guinness Book of records there for the worlds fastest wheelie.
Top speed bikes were hitting over 220mph and the fastest wheelie was a touch over 156mph:gob:
Here's a few pics:
The last 2 are of a biker celeb who made a guest appearence, none other than GhostRider himself
I have plenty more pics of the turbo beast he is sat on :D

Cheers for that, looks like the same 'ghost rider' who was in pictures about a year or so old, same bike yellow/green fairings. Must be the same guy then eh....
Nice day out it seems then man, cheers for the photos. That is one cool buell!

Crikey, that takes me back.... I ran my drag bike at Elvington in the late 60's which is a bit of an indicator of my age:angry: Nice to see the pics, thank you.

My bike-identification skills require the make and model to be written on the side. According to someone there it was a turbo busa, someome else mentioned it was a kwak.
All I know is it was loud, and it was fast!

Just got the final results off the straightliners web site.
Street bike record. 265.4 MPH.
Wheelie 172MPH.
Popup wheelie. 215MPH.
Couldn't get all the results for the meet. Probably not posted yet but these figures are impressive.

Sounds about right although I didn't see the winning runs. Worth a look in if you are ever over here and it's on.

As below.

It is a streetfightered custom GSX-R 1300 Hayabusa.... It used to have full fairings. Probably one of the fastest naked bikes in teh world.
Basic translations would give it renthal moto-x style bars, ohlins all round, twin 320mm discs up front 240mm rear discs, adjustable triple clamps, magnesium wheels, carbon fibre all round, Mc Express turbo system, forged JE pistons and I think what means 'enough top speed for the road'.
Ain't done french for a few years.. me sis is getting married to a frog though so i'd better touch it up.
hahahha!

Firstly he is doing straight line runs, secondly, would you lean the hell out of a proabable 80-100k bike?
There was another thread saying he is a bit of a squid but with bikes like that ya' can't blame him. I have seen him with tyres shredded to the edges though .. weird.
And the reason he has toned it down since GR1-3 is sitting on the fuel tank - pretty obvious eh?
