I've had my bandit for 5 months now, and when I first got it I was still on learners. So I think we (me and him >>the bike<<) have done bloody well so far (touch wood!). But I'm not gona get anything now, think I will start looking around summer or so. The bike looks awesum and goes well so I'm not in a hurry to get rid off him.
Was thinking bout gettin either buell or speed four 600.

Congrats :) Yeah don't rush getting a bigger bike if your comfortable with what you've got :) Gives you more time to consider your options a bit more!

Piece a' weez aye?........once you start looking and see how easy it is to get into another/bigger bike, then it wont take long. I saw the bike i wanted, went a had a look at it, done the maths, and said yea ok, its mine...:blip:
So the trick is........... dont go look at them.....:nono:

Congrats on the upgrade. If yer bike fits the job, then why replace it just yet. Have a look around, beg a few rides off bike shops and see what else you like. You are starting in the right direction by this post. Mate of mine, Blairos, is heading down the same path and is wondering what to do as well. He is looking at a 1000 V twin like an SV or VTR perhaps. Remember, its what is between your ears that counts when riding and the bigger the machine the more apparant it becomes that self control is also a good skill to practise.
Enjoy

And I thought you wanted something better than a Bandit. :blip:
Seriously though, stay on your Bandit until after winter, then try out a few bikes that you feel comfortable with before deciding which one suits you best.

Whatever!
I did the DAS for four days, already had my theory cert, and got 1 minor on the practical, and that was riding around Portsmouth for 45minutes.
Easy as mate.

Congratulations! I remember well the feeling of getting a full license and the possibilities that it opened up. It even seemed to make a 250cc bike go better...

Congratulations, I just got my full licence about 3 weeks ago and I was so nervous when there was really nothing to be nervous about but yeah feels like a great achievement once its over and they say you've passed. I bought a brand new black SV1000SK6 the week before I sat my licence so I knew I had an incentive there waiting for me. So I went from a VTR250 straight on to the SV1000S, and I have to say it's wicked and I love it, put new Neptune pipes on it too and it just so happened my bike was the first bike for the new black textured stainless pipes to go on and sounds wicked. So yeah def get a bigger bike when you are ready as really it's all to do with your wrist action not really the full horsepower of the bike. Good luck.
Awesome Maggs:rockon:
congrats to both you & Gmgirl

Thanx to all.
I still cant believe its finaly over. But maybe in a few days i will start coming to terms with it :)
It feels awesome tho, my nerves started calming down a wee bit, so its all good. Im definitely not gona jump and buy the first bike i see. Now as im not stuck with the 250 range ONLY, and can choose wotever i pretty much like (not too heavy tho :) ) it feels even better, and makes the whole licence process more worth it. The next toy would still be a sports bike, I will probably start window shopping again  in couple of weeks i reckon.

Wicked! Congrants to you as well. And it does feel like you've done something huge even tho it was not much different to the normal way you ride your bike. It's only nerves nerves and nerves :>
Nice bike too. Well done!

so what did you have to do seeing as i'm going to have to do roughly the same in a couple of months
Well, it was very similar to the car one. We went to victoria rd/ queens dr (?) area, few turns around there, for about 10 minutes; then U-turn on that part where victoria rd widens a bit, and a "hill" start. Then i had 2 hazards to describe after 2 different intersections, same area pretty much. U ride for 2 minutes, pull over and tell the guy what u saw. And then he takes u sumwer else and u gota dothe same. If u pass those 2 parts, then u ride towards andy bay rd, and to motorway to lookout point, and then onto the motorway to mosgiel. Make sure u dnt do more than 50km/h after the lights in caversham, all the way up the hill keep ur speed rite. And then ride 50 until theres 100km/h sign on the motorway. I had to take the very first exit out, and then back to town. And again - keep ur speed rite. And do heaps of head-checks and look into ur mirror/s. The whole test was like 40 mins. I think you shud be sweet.
