Just heard on the radio, my road is flooded.
My road is about 7 kms long, so I'm hoping its the other end from me that slopes down.

Fine in Auck, thanks.

The only down side is I am going to have to dry out my stinking jacket. and it does stink, despite good advice from somewhere around here.

Good grief. A bit of rain and wind.
What are you lot?
Str8 Jacket has the only valid excuse here (bike weighs less than a mountainbike). You others should be ashamed of yourselves... ;)

Yeah, I rode yesterday but the forecast gale force southerlies made me decide on the bus today. Word from Eastbourne is that there is surface flooding on the road and further danger of the slip in Sunshine Bay coming over the road. Hope I can get home!

rode home tonight after considering opening the backdoor and leaving the girl at work over night. wind was blowing a gale at work...one of our water buckets got blown away. signs moving everywhere. not too bad of a ride, but could have been better.

Bad luck girl, i shudder to think what state eastbourne road is in at the moment...
My ride hope was un-eventful so i went to the top of the hill to practice U-turns in the southerly? after one i decided"fuck this! and proceeded to fly at an unsuitable pace for the conditions back down the hill to my place.

I wimped out today... it wasn't the rain, it wasn't the wind, it was the hail that tipped it over the edge for me.

mmm yea hail is bad, but my bike is safer in the work garage than outside at home!

Mah. I rode today. I rode yesterday. Hell, I haven't caught the bus for months, and I'm a featherweight on an anorexic bike with a bald rear tyre. That wind sure makes the ride interesting though.

I was looking forward to a real challenge this morning. But no, just a bit of a head wind which made it a bit hard to hear the radio on the way in.

Hey, lucky for you mate! I had a serious moment this morning with the wind while waiting at the lights, the type where you are going "this is going to hurt". I ride to work everyday no matter what the weather and this was the first time i thought i was going down for sure.
Still, lived to ride another crappy day.

Arrgh, yuk. I take it you didnt "go down" then?
EDIT- shit I just realised that you ride an 1100, that's gotta hurt if it landed on you! Also thats a pretty heavy bike to be blown around on, the winds insane!

Naa, I didn't go down. Yeah could be a bit messy..it certainly isn't a light bike, but that does help a bit in the wind though.
I was lucky as I couldn't see any of the cars drivers i had just passed wanting to get out to help me either.

Thats good to hear! When I got blown over on Vivian St the cars that were behind me just drove around me and some even tooted their horns at me as if they were pissed that I was in their way. I hadnt even passed or done anything that could have annoyed them either. Well I suppose that I was blocking their lane....

Cant come soon enough! I just want Nov to hurry so I can get my full and then buy a nice big heavier bike so I wont have to worry about the wind so much!
