I think he got VERY hurt, it takes a few minutes for the pain/shock to set in after an adrenaline hit like that.

That's got to hurt. Why do these Yankie bright sparks all want to attempt dangerous stunts in shorts and T-shirt?
Obviously the only riding gear sold there. The person who introduces leather bike gear to the States is going to make a fortune.
Mr Plod was quick on the scene though. Judging by the cop's donut & fries diet figure the rider could have escaped on foot at a fast walking pace.
