Hey everyone,
Well we have had heaps of stunting threads, and how high you wheelie is, and how WT and Death and amazing at wheelies.......
But lets talk stoppies...... how high can you get it???? I know i have got it up around the 3 foot mark infront of PT and Milky, and ive got it up around the 5 foot mark with some stoppies...
I was just wondering what peoples experiences with stoppies and rolling stoppies are...... I dont care if you have only done a 6 inch high one, or a 6 oclock death stoppie....... All experience wanted
Cheers everyone :)

Can only do a stoppie when I actually stop. And yeah I can do it nearly high enough to scare the shit out of me. My fizzer is f(*&ing heavy to hold when it comes up. So its not much fun over about 2 1/2 feet...
Rolling stoppies are way beyond me - I just lock up the front wheel. :(

They look good when done smoothly, especially when someone does one right next to you at a stop. Personally I don't even try them...no reason really.

Yep I got it entirely wrong doing a stoppie-got multiple fractures in my arm to prove it. Biggest problem was the location I (UNWILLINGY) chose to break the aforementioned arm, try riding from half way across the napier-Taupo road to Napier (the hilly windy bit) with a multiple fractured right(brake an throttle) arm and a banged up VFR 750. Needless to say I do very careful stoppies now if I do them at all!

Jimbo750 was the master at rolling stoppies be fore younknowwhat.
Did a grousy coming up to the lights at Taranaki St one night, there was this one bloke standing in the middle of the road with a mortified look on is face a a howling Gixxer 7 comes bearing down on him from about 20meters away on the front wheel.
Joe public just stands right in it's path as Jimbo stops 1.5 feet from him. All this poor bastards mates are laughing their arses off at the look on his face.
Me and Jimbo were still laughing like lunatics 1/2 an hour later when we got where we were going.

But yeah, JR is just joking around :niceone: so no worries.... but there is some theroy to the comment, a blade should be fairly easy to power wheelie, you probably wont even have to clutch it up :niceone: just rip open the gas in second and give the bars a little tug :niceone:

I'd have to agree- stoppies dont do road bike forks any favours. My advice would be to borrow a mates dirt bike and then stand it on its end. Weighs less and is easy to bail out on if it all goes pear shaped. :sweatdrop

Cant do em on the 250. When I throw the weight forward the front wheel just skips.
The 600 was good - rolling I could do for a car length - but no balance (same prob with wheelies). 90 degree turns - standard courier trick for getting between parked cars. 180s - fookin hard, never got the hang of em.
Stunting on a bike - all good stuff, but probably not a good idea on a public road (car park stuff really) and also not on your pride and joy - lest you scuff it :)
Also helps having proper safety gear.

Always be prepared to walk over the handle bars. Havnt actually tried a decent stoppie on the ZXR yet. RG was good at doing em though. GB sucked.

yeah i can do them, im not sayin im the man or any thing cause im so far from it,
but they are fully hard to do when you have never done them before,
its hard to grab a fist full of breaks when you know that the front wheel could lock and its all over for ya..
most of my rollin stoppies are a couple of feet off the ground,
but for every 10 i do, 1 will be a really good 1,
i know i shouldnt do them but some times the hoon takes over and there i am comin up to lights, 1 thing leads to another and whoops up it comes
have fun doing them, but when it all goes bad.... :crybaby:

Thats why I'm a little apprehensive about doing them one armed on the 750. Small ones no problem on the spada or rgv250, but they are a lot smaller and lighter than my current steed. I'll get there though.

I only tried once on my R1, and I may have got close, but the bike started to feel really unbalanced and wobble. Infact, when I came to a stop, it took a bit of work to keep the bike upright haha...
I've seen a video clip of someone doing a rolling stoppie, when the front wheel becomes unbalanced and flips from side to side, finally throwing the rider off and stuffing up the bike. For the time being, or until I buy an "El Cheapo" bike, I'll stick to wheelies.
Whats an Endo? Is that just a rolling stoppie? I have a great video of someone doing a rolling stoppie, and steering it 180 to face the way he/she came. Farking amazing and impressive. While I'm on the subject, anyone seen the video of the guy/gal sliding next to the bike on their feet, while the bike travels at speed down the road? Almost as if they are wearing roller blades, and controlling the bike from the side. Stunting has the ability to be really "cool", but the penalties for messing up during practice (an almost certainty) are too high for me.
