I have spoken with Pyrocam this morning... its not him - as he lives near there. He got woken up by all the sirens as it is near to where he lives.

As soon as I received the same email from police comms that speedie posted up... I texted pyrocam straight away...
He cant read KB at work...

Cammo has a red and black (mostly red) bike.
Yes I know that, but the police comms email doesnt state what colour the bike is. Plus I happen to know that pyrocam lives very close to that area.

Madmax said the bike was black - anyway - no need to justify anything - please keep this thread on topic.
I will be deleting this post in 10 mins.
Not a problem at all justsomeguy...... I heard it on the radio this morning before I got the email. Plus other KBers know that Pyrocam lives in that area. Just a way of letting them know that he is ok... see The_Dover post.

Two in just over a week, not good!
RIP fellow biker, very sad news.
Any feedback on the cause / fault? I know it is off topic, and not nice to discuss, but for the Hamilton MOT meeting this evening, it is a chance to highlight the issues.
F'n cagers!

RIP ,condolences to riders family this is getting bad 2 in a few weeks not good everyone keep safe and watch the bloody cages for gross acts of stupidity.
What?
28th July 2006, 06:53
... and watch the bloody cages for gross acts of stupidity.
This is NOT a comment about this particular incident, OK..
But I often see people on bikes doing DUMB things. Damned near had myself a scooter for a hood ornament on my ute last week because the twerp riding it did a right turn (Mt Maunganui, Totara St into Rata St) without even looking, let alone slow down. Now, if said scooter had become my hood ornament, would I have been one of those "Effin Cagers" so often written about in here?
Ride carefully, people. Sometimes it's not just the cage pilots that are out to get us.
Ozzie

Ride carefully, people. Sometimes it's not just the cage pilots that are out to get us.
Tis true, good and bad in all. We automatically jump to the conclusion that it is a cager at fault, and the rider was the innocent party that got creamed.
I'm sure that was the case in this instance (no disrespect intended), but isn't always the case.
I too have nearly had a number of hood ornaments, between scooters and mini choppers, and seen some normal bikers do some seriously dumb shit.
Play safe where you can play safe, otherwise be careful, and make sure you don't end up dead because of yours or a cagers F up.

Does anyone know someone who rides a black TLR1000 with ?twin bros pipes?, the rider was dressed in black helmet/leathers? I used to always see him on Richardson rd about 8.30-9.30 every morning while I was working in the area. He also used to fly past our house on May Road when we used to live there. Hope it's not him. Mean sounding bike........

Rough stuff.
I learnt alot commuting on a pushbike...recommended if u want to learn how to ride defensively on 2 two wheels.
Been hit twice on push bike by car, both times was riding assuming that i was easily seen.
Now if i commute on motorbike i can predict situations where cars may not be able to see me or may pull out, so i change my riding accordingly.
Very very gutted to hear this has happened. Havent been riding for long but i still feel part of the commuinity.
Prayers go out to the family

No it doesnt you moron, you post shit up about a dead person and dont know any facts, just hearsay through the grapevine. Remove those surnames NOW before I come round and you'll be the one needing a dental nurse.I have taken care of it Glen, no need for threats towards other members tho.

no speedie i actually know for a fact those were the details as my mother is good friends with the mother of said deceased....so don't say i don't know the facts because if i didn't i would not have said it....i said that with factual backing....
because i wanted others to stop worrying it was somebody they knew because all we had was black bike...
i didn't have a first name thus why i did not say it but i knew the facts i had outlined...last name and ethnicity ...though i was not certain on the spelling of that last name.
rant over.
think before you open your pie hole speedie.

Hey mark - there's a couple of rules/guidelines about this stuff - best you acquaint yourself with them man... for the good of all involved.
We don't want families finding out this stuff via a friend who read it on the web...
We don't want familes to find out one of their loved ones passed away when it actually didn't happen...
And we do want the family to be given the space and respect they deserve in a situation where any/everyone sticking their nose of 5c in causes a loss of privacy... no matter how small.
Dunno if you were trying to help or not, but if in doubt... just stay out.
Re the rider. I think it's all been said so far.
RIP
Joni
31st July 2006, 12:48
I agree with Speedie - Mark if you have information rather post that people can pm you if they are concerned rather than post the name....
Please lets call this the end of this conversation and keep the respect for the rider who has passed where it should be without this thread becoming a bitch fight.
Mark, Speedie - if you have more things to say, please take it up via pm or face to face.
Ta
and ps. RIP fellow rider....

Though once all families have been informed etc would it not be ok to post the name of the deceased, in a respectable manner of course, so those that know him have ridden with him know?
ie once death notices have been in the paper, or his name in the media then it would be an ok time time to include their name in the thread.
