This bike is excellent mechnically, no problems at all. Under warranty until June 07 (have invoices from services so that it is still valid). New reg & wof for 1 year next week. Micron can fitted by previous owner. I have owned this bike since 4444km. Serviced as per schedule, next one is 12000km.
There are minor scrapes on the left side from me losing my balance when having to stop suddenly and falling over. Fortunantly I was under the bike so damage was limited to minor scrapes. It has also had a repair & repaint on the tail section after it fell onto some steps (only cracked the tail section). It was a very good repair & repaint, so you cant see that there was any damage.
I have had ventura headlight protectors and a pro-grip tank pad fitted.
Always garaged. I rode it how it was intended to be ridden, however it has only ever seen redline once or twice. Metzeler racetec K1 on the back & K0 on the front with plenty of tred - these tyres are brilliant.
Selling because I have been bitten by the V-twin bug and am now looking for a TLR.
No tyre-kickers or time wasters. Proof of funds required before a test ride.
I can be contacted on my cell at anytime.
Please note that the pics I have provided are from when I brought the bike. I will try to get some up-to-date pics sorted.

I would be interested, but not at 12k.I have seen a few up here go for around the 10k mark, and they are pretty tidy too. But still, respect that you don't want to sell it for less than it is worth to you, so i will watch with interest!

If you like you can pm me and we can discuss it further, what its worth to you etc. Like I said i'm in no hurry to sell, but I am open to discussion.

I've been offered an 04 Sv1000 with 15,000 on the clock & aftermarket factory pipes plus $1500 for my bike. It sounds like a good deal to me, what do you guys think?

Is the 2005/6 SV1000S still selling for $12500?...Im guessing good AM pipes will be $1200-$1500...but 15,000kms arent too many.
So it depends on how it was run in and what servicing costs youve fortunately missed out on?

Sounds fair, it's not so good a deal that I'd be tripping over myself... But if you really wanted an SV, it'd be fair. I reckon my 97 ZX6R was a better bike than my K6 SV, just so you know... I'd be doing a nice long test ride if I was you.... you wanna swap an 06 SV with 4000kms, carbon fibre microns, and sorted fuel injection?

Haha that sounds like a trade thats more like me... the only problem im having is deciding whether I should sell the 6r and get a cheaper bike in order to clear a large chunk out of debt or to go to a nice big twin (such as a TL or SV). Selling the bike and downgrading is the more sensible option (espcially as I have just purchased a rolling body project car), but im never sensible when it comes to these sorts of things.
Are you serious about the swap though?

18th September 2006, 18:22
Naw mate... I'll buy another 6r at some stage, but I doubt I'll sell the SV to do it. The only thing better than one bike in the shed, is two... or three, or.. you get the idea ;)
As much as anything, the point of my post was 'make sure you get some decent seat time on a twin before you swap the four for one'.

Sweet as. I think its about time I stopped being silly with money and just downgrade for the time being. An older 6r perhaps. Or even an older TLS.
Btw, as an update on the sale, I have taken some up to date pics of the bike, and some detailed shots of the damage. Only problem is we cant get the photos off the camera at the moment...
A note about the damage also, I say in the description that its minor scrapes, and after taking some closeup photos of each nick & scratch, I can definently say that it is very, very minor damage (its just major to me because its my baby lol). Ill let the photos talk, though (when I can get them).

I will seriously consider any reasonable offers or swaps for a TL1000.

you were right, and with a little time under your belt you've realised the reality of your offer.

What was the point of your post?
People that challenge the reason behind a set price when they have no intention of buying annoys me. If you dont agree with the price, make an offer or move on to the next thread.

People trying to sell things at over rated prices annoy me; if something's in the public domain and it's blatantly obvious your trying to screw someone, i feel obliged to comment. Just like the muppets ( traders ) on tardme that sell shit for more than joe bloggs can get in a shop.
I had made my point and moved on, poking the animals may result in biting.

If someone does not do their homework and over pays, then that is entirely their fault, its not the sellers problem that they got overpaid for their product...

I have some sympathy with liftback as I am in a similar situation of trying to sell a bike, I am finding difficult to put the correct issue on the bike. I looked at the www.redbook.com.au site and converted it to Kiwi dollars.
Is there something like "glass's guide" in the UK which has all the second hand values listed.

Gimmie a break, ask for $100000 for all I care. Seller sets the price, since when has this been an issue?

Good to see someone with a conscience!! Still say that it is their issue if they over pay.
