Was watching 5th gear today, and they had some comment on how people in uk are changing atvs into road going vehicles. Then they showed it run into the back of a parked car. Dummy broke rear windscreen with face. Ouch I say.
Has anyone in nz done this? put a quadruple of road tyres onto a quad, stuck little orange things on that look like indicators and given it hell? I reckon it would be pretty cool, it'd be pretty different, but then theres the fact that youre cold, stuck in traffic, people still don't see you, and you can't get a knee down?
So why?
Just a thought.

No. they are too unstable/unsafe to be regod in nz. (at least that is my understanding)
I saw one the other day. Would be cool, just to be different, but defeats the purpose of a motorbike on the road.

not like my motorbike that stays where i put it.....
i reckon it'd be a blast on the southern, then a quick blat over cornwall park, across st heliers beach, bounce the railway tracks at britomart.
could have potential i reckon

Unstable?...??? And that's a problem? Is your bike stable? I reckon they would be a hoot on the road - I'd been into one!

Was done years ago in Dunedin.
A guy I worked with, that had two wooden legs use to ride a reg and wof Honda quad to work most day, from Mosigal to the railway workshops, he even did a brass monkey or two.

Farm quads are rego'd aren't they? Shouldn't be too hard to do the same thing to something with a bit more squirt.
