View Full Version : Attention all Honda riders...

We need a couple of bods for photo shoots, so I've been asked to put out some 'feelers'..
Requirements:
Sports / Sports Touring:
35-45 female or male
Cruiser:
40-55 feeeeeeemale or male
Touring:
Couple 40-55 (don't have to be a legit 'couple', so work with it..)
YOU NEED TO BE A HONDA RIDER OR NON-BIKE OWNER, soz.
Shoot is 7/8 August, so need to be free for those two days, in Auckland, so you need to be able to get up here (or down) if you aren't already.
If you fit into any of the requirements, but don't have that style (like you have a Honda dirt bike etc), then that's ok too, just need to be a Honda rider. You would need as generic as poss gear, but that can be supplied if needed.
And there's payment too, but I don't know how much.
Please send a head shot to kit.greer@clear.net.nz if you wanna have a go.. should be a lot of fun!
** Just want to be clear here: Your bike (as nice as it may be) is irrelevant for the shoot. You just need to be seen out on the road with a Honda, not a competitor machine.. And, until it hits the press of whatever, it'll all be in confidence. **

I'm only 33 so fit none of your categories :nya:

if you look a little older (or a young 35 ;)) then no reason not to try..
just send me a shot.. it's going to be based more on the look they want, rather than if you are 35+ etc.. so send a shot jic
needs to be at least a head shot too. If it's a full body/length shot or more, then make sure you can at least see your face clearly

I fit well into that category but don't get outta bed for anything less than $10k. And that doesn't include makeup.

don't worry about what your Honda looks like, it won't be a scratch on what you'll be sat on or stood next to. It's not your bike we're after

Excuse me, but there seems to be a category missing.
Where are the female sportsbike riders aged between 35 and 45?
Typical motorcycling industry... as per usual taking no notice of their potentially fastest growing demographic. They just don't have the balls to recognise it or address it.

lol.. believe me, if it were up to me, I'd say. In fact, I'll mention it.
But I can only relay what I've been told. Besides, you don't ride a Honda :bleh:

I protest! What about sports bike riders over 55 - even if it is a fat sportsbike! That's a blatant case of ageism!:nono:

not PM'ing anyone. Has to be of their free will, and I don't really have time to figure out who would be ideal and PM them.. else I would, cos that'd mean paid time on KB
thanx tho..
oh, and Goblin isn't in Aucks if I remember right..

why did you mention Postie?
that's what I meant..
Postie
31st July 2006, 15:20
..so.. you don't need a honda postie? :D
i have a Honda mate, a mighty VFR, can't beat half a V8. But its only a race bike and I'm only 23 and my road ride is a Yamaha that is as reliable as Rossi's own, so i don't fot the brief either
ZeroIndex IS a postie . . . geez I hope you guys were just taking the piss.
BTW - you can use me if it helps any, but I'm only 29 and my hondas an off road. Happy to help out tho if needed.
bugjuice
31st July 2006, 15:59
but the bike you'll most commonly be seen on is your road bike which is not a 'onda..ß

Hey, bugjuice,
If you are short on numbers I could always ask my parents, they are part of the Honda Riders club, and have a Honda Valkyrie. Dad's also got a new Hayabusa, and DL1000 too. Let me know if you are struggling, and I'll see what they say. They are early to mid 50's. (I should really know their exact ages, but I'm slack).
bugjuice
31st July 2006, 16:40
if they want to send me a pic, then great!
Who ever it is, doesn't have to be part of KB, I just thought I'd ask you guys first, and/or if you knew anyone. So yeah, that'd be great if they're willing and have that time off..

Given the earlier references to 'Money shot' etc. exactly which 'head' do you need a shot of?:blip:
I'm 36 and ride a Honda - I'm an ugly bastard though (one ear higher than the other, squint eyes and missing teeth etc.) so will send you a photo anyway. Not wearing the kilt today so you'll have to settle for a photo of the head on my shoulders...sorry.

31st July 2006, 19:23
I too are like you.. and disagree. I have actually spoken out on a few points including this and others, but, I'm not the client, I'm not the art/creative director, I am not the person paying for the ads. I am but a mere mac monkey who thought I could get a few fellow KBer mates a few extra bucks..
One problem I'm sure you can take into account tho, is that yes, the crit does exclude a lot of people. But if the crit was changed for you, it'd still exclude a lot of people. So, they have to have something to start with, and they aren't going to please everyone, cos it just ain't gonna happen. So just gotta make the best of what we've got to play with
