For those of you that own a Hyosung GT650, there's a specific Yahoo group that discuss all things Hyosung. It's here:

You'll find all sorts of informationand tips relating to the Hyosung GT650 range.
For those who ride/own the GT250, a similar group exists.

What's the deal with these Hyosung bikes? are they any good? They look like they make a nice vee twin but I'm suspicious of anything new, technophobia etc.

Theres quite a few threads about this on here. Strangely far more than all the other makes of bike (other than GSXR maybe).
Just do a search on 'Hyosung'.

Don't worry, V twins have been around for a while now.

Yeah...ha...I guess if your technophobia covers carburetted vTwins then your top-loading VCR should be cause for concern too :).

Can't go too wrong.

They make their own motors designed by suzuki engineers/designers poached a few years back. The bikes are distributed by kawak NZ.

oh well knew they had something to do with kawasaki.
Thought they pilfered parts from all different manufactures, welded them all together and called them their own?
Could be wrong, at not looking to cause offense.

As Skelstar said, Hyosung make their own engines, they will be brining out a 1000cc V-Twin in early 2007 with a reported 130 - 140 HP at the crank.
They'll put it in the GV cruisers first and then adapt to a GT model to fill the void left where VTR SP1/2, SV 1000 and TL's left off.

As far as I know, they share no parts with other bikes. Even the mirrors are Hyosung parts.

Here in OZ the GT650 range and GV 650 Aquila's are available as a restricted 34 hp version for learners. After a learner has finished the three months they can get their P-Plates, or if a "mature age rider" (over 30) go straight onto an unrestricted licence.
One then spends about $118.00 AUD to have the 34hp restricted model turned into a 79hp model.
However, Suzuki have been hitting back by lowering the prices of the GS500 range, as well as the SV650's to claw back the market segment they lost to Hyosung. The GSX750F is now only $1,000 AUD more than a Hyosung GV 650 Aquila. Sure they're different bike, but for around $10,000 AUD, which would you rather have?
The GT250's are stuck on 24hp though. There's a whole pile of reviews to be read at:
